Jones is an incredible puncher at 168. Hearns is a sharpshooter and here he is up against perhaps the most athletically gifted fighter of ever. Jones will win as soon as he finds his serious stride. KO around 6.

Jones would KO Hearns.

At 168 and 175, Jones knocks Hearns out. At 160, I still think he stops Hearns, although it would be a more competitive fight.
A little unfair at 175 for the natural welterweight / junior middle.
Jones takes it.

160 is the best chance Hearns has, but even he would have extreme difficulty finding Jones.
168+ is a massacre.

Jones is very overrated, but at this weight, his size will save him and he'd decision Hearns.

Jones was shorter than Hearns by 2 inches, and Hearns fought up to CW. Jones was a bit thicker, but not overall bigger.
Hearns fought at CW as an old man, and while we're at it Jones got a piece of the title at HW :good
Agreed that Hearns was taller, though... but at 160 I'd say the size (not height) advantage goes to Jones.

At 168, Jones would UD Hearns easily.
At 160 it would be a different matter though, the Hagler version was a monster puncher and Jones would stay in respect all night long.

RJJ would run from Hearns the entire fight at any weight class..
Tommy had one puch knockout power at any weight he fought at.
I'd put a prime Hearns over a prime RJJ anytime.
(Roy has that glass jaw of his, as does Hearns)
It would end in KO tho

I agree this is a much more interesting match up at 160.

I think Hearns might beat the tight version of Jones who fought Hopkins, but if we allow Roy to have a big fight or two under his belt first, he's too difficult for Hearns to track down at 160.
And his power would spell big trouble for The Hitman, who probably wouldn't make it to the 8th round.
