He's wrong about joe never fighting a bigger hitter, but he is right on the money aboutr the b-hop fight. Bernie has been stinking out the joint lately and a scrap w/ calzaghe would not be entertaining in the least. I see a woods/calzaghe fight being more pleasing, but joe needs
hopkins to seal an ATG status. But if joe can't make a fight w/ X then
woods should be next as he is the #2 lightheavy on the planet.

Woods rips odds, Hopkins!
IBF light heavyweight champion Clinton Woods has taken offense against the sportsbook who established as a 4:1 underdog to unified super middleweight champion Joe Calzaghe, should that fight ever be made. "I'm not 4-1 against anyone, that just complete rubbish, and with all due respect to Joe's great win, a lot of people believe he was beaten by Robin Reid and he was knocked down by Byron Mitchell and Karaby Salem. Again, with respect, I am a lot better that all three of them put together and I've been a light heavyweight for nearly a decade. I will be stronger and a harder puncher than anyone Joe has ever faced. It would be fantastic fight." Woods also scoffed at the idea of a proposed fight between Calzaghe and 42-year-old former middleweight champion Bernard Hopkins. "Name me one exciting Bernard Hopkins fight, just one," challenged Woods. "Exactly! The guy is a complete bore to watch, good as he is. He doesn't bring any friends to the arena, much less any fans...let's be honest, Hopkins is only interested in easy nights against undersized opponents or opponents he recognizes as being past their best and Joe is big and in his prime. Hopkins is on cruise and collect mode, he's on a pension run. If the fight ever did happen, Hopkins would will try and pick-pocket his way to a close points win and we've seen Joe get dragged down into messy, scrappy fights by guys who come with avoiding getting hurt as their top priority. Who on Earth wants to see that?"

Hopkins is one of the best of his era, like Joe.

I dont think this fight is about excitment, its about legacy.
Woods adds nothing to Joes and frankly I think it would be boring aswell because I think it would be really one sided.
At least Joe vs Bhop might be tense and close.

Woods v Hopkins would at least be competitive. Calzaghe would UD Hopkins in a snoozefest

Woods wants a payday.

Yep...he's saying whatever he can to get Calzaghe in the ring with him so he can get a big payday. Not that I blame him, in fact, if I was in Wood's shoes I'd probably do the same thing.

Valid points. Agreed, Hopkins would just try to "pic-pocket" in a fucking boring ass fight, if he has his way.

Hopkins might be boring but he knows how to win fights.

I know some of you people want blood and guts and want fighters to expose themselves for the sake of YOUR entertainment. But this is the sweet science. It's about hitting and not being hit. And Hopkins has that down.

Calzaghe/Hopkins needs to be shot down. That would be an atrocious PPV bout. The only fight that interests me for Hopkins is a rematch against Jones, and that's for sentimental purposes.

Calzaghe would be better off fighting Woods or, if a miracle could occur, Dawson.

Woods can carry Joe's spitbucket to the ring for his fight with Hopkins

And he better appreciate it too. That's the only way he's gonna get any money out of Joe.

Clitton Woods is a fucking bum. Calzaghe should now face superstars, he shouldn't fight bums who think they are stars and can call out the best, earn your stripes fucker.

In the states his a relative uknown but his been in with good ring operators in Gonzalez twice Glen Johnson 3 times Rico Hoye and fought a still prime Roy Jones. For a guy who worked his way into title contention the traditional route -winning all domestic titles along the way- and only started boxing to loose weight id say his done himself mighty proud.

He makes a very good point about B Hop being in boring fights due to his style .And he would make no mistake pose Joe alot of problems. He has a decent dig a solid chin is rangy possess`s a good jab and right hand and always comes in shape.Joe would have his hands full thats a dead cert.

Did you realy have to say i am an idiot? You are 28 years old, act like that.

I have to admit that the only Woods fight i have seen is against Roy and the only thing that impressed me was that he didn't go down. I'm saying that Joe has fought many fighters with no name value, he should now finish his career fighting guys with draw power.

I like Clinton, but I think you are overestimating his chances against Calzaghe. Joe would probably be a 75/25-type favorite.

I agree with you there. I definitely prefer a fight with Woods over one with Hopkins. To hell with that.

Calzaghe/Hopkins should be put on regular HBO, but it is a fight that needs to happen imo, and it is years late...i say better late than never, and whoever wins should be crowned KING, no age excuses...
