That was one brutal beating he took. He won't be the same again. I just hope he's okay and ESPN should give him a bonus. Bika too.

The ref stopped it just right - he looked completely out on his feet. In fact, he wandering off towards a corner as the ref was waving it off.

To me, he looked ready to go THROUGHOUT the fight. There were several times when it looked like he was stumbling back to his corner after a round ended. Some time off would probably be good.

Coordington was fighting on heart, it was only the hope of 750,000 $ that kept him standing so long. He was taking a lot of big shots.

Codrington was all heart tonite and i commend him, but he should've went to Bika's body when he had him on queer street in the 1st...Bika was done and should've been finished, but after that Codrington should've boxed...he kept trying to KO Bika with one punch, but could've outboxed Bika easily with his jab and quick left hook...Codrington was clearly the better fighter, but he chose to slug with a slugger and got slugged out...

Poor kid got caught up in the moment. Every time he got up on his toes in the middle rounds, I was thinking "use your jab!", but he'd quit throwing it. And then Buddy walked him straight into that uppercut with the "lean in" advice...

I'll tell you what is funny, how many people on here were saying Coddrington by KO before the fight.
Do you people even watch boxing? There was NOTHING to suggest that Bika is likely to be KOd anytime soon and yet plenty to suggest that for all his nice looking offensive skills Coddrington is vunerable.

If someone picked Coddrington by points then fair enough, but I was looking in disbelief last night at all the KO picks. Calzaghe winning almost every round with a bad cut (from a headbutt) against Bika is starting to look less and less like a bad performance I guess.

Also Calzaghe didnt even spar one round for that fight.

dam Codrington showed courage and fought his heart out.. He deserves all the praise..

Sweetness Allan Green is his father though, and he would tear Bika a new asshole. Green would get inside on Bika's uneducated looping punches and annhiliate him with short compact punches..

Bika would treat Allan Green the same way that he dealt with Codrington.

i picked codrington on skills.

cos i thought bika could be outboxed.

although i knew bika would be pumped with all that money on the line.

codrington messed up bigtime by the sounds of it. :patsch

No...it's just that he wasn't yet good enough to beat a Top 10 guy like Bika...but he is still young! His chin ain't great, but he has skills and a lot of heart, and these, properly applied, can take him a long way...(but not all the way). Codrington is supposed to have made a hell of a fight - he just didn't box enough, apparently, but then, Bika was never going to let him...)

Tough way to earn a living. Both guys will be suspended for 60 days I would suspect. We should have more fights where the winner gets the lions share and the loser much less.:good

Codrington's footwork was horrible and he used the wrong strategy entirely. He had Bika SERIOUSLY hurt in the first, but couldn't finish him off, and seemed to punch himself out too much to stick with an outside gameplan. He needed to be throwing twice as many punches as he was throwing to win rounds, and he needed to stick Bika with straighter punches.

Strike - there is now plenty to suggest that Bika could be KOed by the right person. Codrington almost had him out twice, but once he couldn't connect cleanly after hurting him in the first, and later he didn't have the energy tro finish him off when he was staggering around.

Round 1 was good, but the rest of the fight was just sloppy and frustrating IMHO. I didn't think it was a particularly great fight.

If you don't like that kind of action, maybe you should stick to figure skating.

Bika would treat Allan Green the same way that he dealt with Codrington.

That is negative. Allan Green KOs bika easy. He's alot smarter than codrington.

I am not sure you are right. Bika has a very good chin...he will get up if he is hit flush on the chin with a strong punch...I would fancy Bika to win, to be honest...(is Allan Green in your Top 10?)

Bika was nearly knocked out in the first round. And Codrington kept hurting him during the fight. It was not that bad of a prediction.

Interesting point. I've often thought prize fights should be just that. To the winner goes the prize, whether it be take all, a bigger %, or whatever.

Gives one a much incentive to fight like hell when the money isn't guarenteed.

After Peter Manfredo Jr. turns Jeff Lacy into a grease spot on the canvas, I'm hoping he'll turn his attention towards Allan Green. After that victory, he'll be directly in line for a FAIR and JUST championship shot!
