I've never seen Ibragimov fight either, yet I put vCash on Mormeck based on what he said at the presser. He wants to fight "an intense style for 12 rounds" and "received the best possible preparation".

Unless he's a liar that just doesn't give a shit, Mormeck shouldn't look like sh1t in this one IMO.

well i didn't see the fight, but it was a split decision.

I didn't see the fight, but based on what I've read and heard, the French referee's actions made all the difference. The action was very close, and the referee consistently made calls to protect Mormeck and/or penalize Ibragimov. This enabled Mormeck to fight his fight.

So, in the end, the officials make all the difference. In my estimate, at least.

Watch the fight then. I can understand the controversy about the Oquendo fight even if I don't agree but here who could think Ibragimov won or deserved to win ? Ibragimov won rounds 1-2 with his jab mainly cause Mormeck was not active but after that it was not so close, especially in the mid rounds. Mormeck was the aggressor AND he landed the best punches. What should have the referee done ? Letting Ibragimov use his weight, not breaking the clinches ? If the referee had been a WWE one Ibragimov would have had a chance to win a dirty wrestling match but it was a boxing fight and he lost fair and square. I even think Ibragimov could have been penalized earlier for excessive holding. He was rocked a couple of times and the referee (who is not very good...) was patient with him.
That said I like pressure fighters if their strategy is efficient. Previously I had seen Khurtidze vs N'Dam and I had scored the fight for Khurtidze.
I respect defensive boxers who move well and control with the jab but excessive holding is a different thing. If someone discovers boxing with Ruiz vs Oquendo it will be hard to convince him to watch another fight...
