Jaidon Cadrington got a lesson in boxing from Saiko Bika in the final bout of The Contender....a slug fest fight, in which both came of the canvas on the 1st round, but it clearly showed that after the 3rd, Jaidon didn;t want to deal with Bika's pressure anymore, Bika broke him down and after the TKO Jaidon looked like a broken fighter...a truly broken fighter....Congrats to Saiko and hope he enjoyed the money with his family!!
Jaidon true colors came to shione on that fight...as the tough got going , Joidon wanted to be gone...and Bika was not to be denied that night....

It was a great fight. I'm not a fan of Jaidon, but he impressed me with this fight. That showed alot of presence of mind for him to keep his punches in tight when Bika was unloading on him.... tight enough for him to catch Bika with a KO shot.
Not a fan of Jaidon's chin, but he does seem to have the presence of mind to protect and fight back.
He did get spun around a few times with hooks from Bika - haven't seen that happen too much.
Gunns is right though, it was a great fight.

It was a great fight, but I have to say that Jaidon;s heart was in questions for me, he was out of the fight for the alst two rounds, his body language was telling me.."I want to quit"...I don;t know if you guys felt taht or not...
Jaidon doesnt look like he has what it takes to fight on in the face of controversy/adversity or when the heat gets turned up. He seems to have a bit of a fragile psyche. He definetly fought bravely for several rounds but at a certain point he went into a shell i think he was looking for a way out. I dont know the feeling so I cant say i blame or fault him but he definetly does not have the kill or be killed or win at all costs mentality of many of the warriors we love. He seesm immature though i am sure he will be around awhile and continue to improve.

I think Codrington proved more heart than any of us expected, given Bika's pressure and coeur de lion...let's not be too harsh...Codrington is still young and not as hungry as Bika, for whom this was the last chance to secure a place in the Top 10...Bika never gives up against anyone...we shouldn't really compare young Codrington with Bika...
Biggest worry for me with Codrington is his chin - without a very good chin, he won't become a Champ at SMW...I don't think he wll ever make the Top 5...
...but I think you are right, Codrington has had to dig real deep in this one, and his stock has risen a lot through this performance...I think it will help him get better and perhaps, he'll get into the Top 10 one day...

I was twenty feet from the ring and could read Jaidon's face the whole time. He desperately wanted a hail mary shot to land the last few rounds. When one would land, and Bika stayed on his feet, Jaidon looked devastated.

Yeah...the guys are right...immature and fragile psyche...and not the greatest chin - hard to overcome all that...

As I mentioned on the original psot and again..Jaidon's heart, at least on my book is in question, the moment that he saw that Bika was not going to packed it after the first round, and after takig his very best in the 3rd, he went into a shock..and for reading you guys post it was so obvious he wanted out, his body language clearly said that from the 3rd on....he counter, but never was on the offensive never...
Like Pepe said on thenpost-fight interview:
Jaidon fought a man that night...not a boy a man...

Because of this, it's unlikely he'll be even a beltholder - but I think he still has what it takes to be a decent contender, a guy who's just below the top guys in his division. The kid has a good punch and seems to have good athletic ability, if nothing else.

I think he does indeed have KO power, it's not like Bika was ever fragile chinned, or showed any chin problems in the past. I also think that Codrington's chin is better than the Green fight showed, BUT, still not overly solid, I'd rate it as 'shaky' as it stood from the Bika fight.
Bika has good power, just piss technique and doesn't create the types of KO punches that he could do provided with proper technique.

Bika fought a much different fight against Codrington that he usually would, against Solaiman he was preatty much in the "pocket" or as much as Bika can be in the "pocket" he was far more calculated and shorten and starighten his punches, against Jaidon, a far less experience opponent, he taught he could overwhelm his with pressure, and he was right....
Again I was not overly impressed with Jaidon Chin or heart

As long as he will never be stopped whilst in his prime, in my book, Sakio will have had no chin problems at all...even if he will be KDed in the future - and it won't happen more than once or twice again - he WILL get up; of that I am sure!

Jaidon showed tons of heart but he bascially gave up in my opinion.Bika wanted it more and the poor kid was tired of being hit and was simply spent.HOW he was getting hit by those punches il never know.Bika literally swings for the fences! The kid wants to get himself some D.

The only thing this fight showed was that Codrington should not have been in the final. He got lucky with his pre-fights and if he had fought Smith or Soliman he wouldn't have got there.
It's a big pity for Soliman that he had to fight Bika in the semi as after all these years of his crazy style and humour he deserved a few $$$

I don't think Soliman is that good anymore...Codrington would probably have outboxed him...
