View Full Version : Clarifying the David Haye v Enzo Mac situation

Enzo Mac has said in a recent interview he wants to fight the winner of Mormeck v Haye, and hopes it'll be Haye, and that he also hopes Haye doesn't duck him again:huh There are two important points to clarify

1) Some time last year Frank ****** was in Boxing News saying that if Enzo wasn't able to beat David Haye, then he(******) would give up the sport.(a good thing most in Britain would agree, but that's another story!!) Shortly after David Haye put an advert in Boxing News daring Enzo to fight him in a 'winner takes all' contest. Enzo accepted, and an agreement was reached between Haye's manager and ******(I'm not suire whether the 'winner takes all' still stood or whether a more conventional purse spilt was agreed). The fight was ON and all boxing fans in Britain were really looking forward to it. However, when the contracts came to be signed, Haye's manager and promotional outfit, noticed that by signing for the fight they would be effectively signing over control of Haye to ****** should Haye win(****** has learnt plenty from boxings Shyster-in-Chief,Don King). Naturally, Haye's team therefore declined to sign and the fight was off. Remember that ****** has publically stated that if Haye beat Enzo, ****** would pack it all in!! So why, if ****** was so convinced of an Enzo victory, would he insist(but only when it actually came to signing the contracts:hey ) on options on David Haye?

2) Haye has stated many times that the Mormeck fight will be his LAST at Cruiser and that he will campaign at HW thereafter. So unless Enzo agrees to fight him at HW(which I doubt very much) he knows he can call out Haye as much as he likes, because it ain't gonna happen!!

Enzo would smash him into smitharines. That's if Haye fights again after Saturday.

Well I never really got why this fight was ever even talked about tbh. I mean Haye was at the time mandatory challenger to Mormeck, the true champ with the best belts. Why fight Enzo for a shitty WBO trinket and lose your shot at the champ? Plus he has stated he is moving up, If he beats Mormeck he has nothing to prove at Cruiser anyway. Dont know why Enzo cant comprehend this and continues to call him out, when the whole world knows it aint gonna happen.

This is what he has said about a Haye fight today.

"He's already pulled out of a fight against me earlier this year, but if he wins and has a title, then the public will want to see us get it on.
There is no reason for it not to happen - only if Haye gets the jitters again.
But if Mormeck wins, then I would be just as happy taking him on. Like Joe Calzaghe, I want to fight the best out there and unify titles."

Reasons why it wont happen???

1) Haye is moving up
2) WBO is not a real belt
3) ****** wants options
4) ****** will offer Haye no money
5) If Haye does make a defense it has to be a mandatory against O'Niel Bell

anymore?

Seriously i used to like Enzo but latley he has come out with some shit about Haye not wanting to face him, Wayne Braithwaite being world class, Sellers being dangerous, Azzouli being dangerous.

I really wish Haye would Knock him out!

I think Mac vs. Haye would be an interesting fight. I think Mac is more skilled but Haye would be able to land the big one. I predict that Haye would ko Mac while behind on the score cards in the later rounds, but if Mac can avoid that big punch he'd win a decision. Haye's own chin and boxing skills I still question. I didn't think he looked that great against Johanssen where he sufferred a huge cut.

They don't make you fight Mandatorys, you just have to fight someone in the top 15, thats why its not a real belt!

Haye sufferd the only cut of his career agaisnt Fragomeni. Mac is no way more skilled that Haye!

Frank ****** demanding options on Hayes fights for signing to fight Enzo is a trick he learned in promoters school from Proffesers King and Arum.Fortunatly, Haye has other options.Unfortunatly, some fighter don't, and fall prey to the unscroupulous sharks in promoters suits.

That's not entirely true. You have to choose from their top 15 if you make a VOLUNTARY defence. They do force mandatories just not as often as the IBF for example.

if i was david haye and won on saturday i would say publicy to ****** letting all the media know that i will offer you the same as you offered me.

namely £250 k and options on me promoting enzo`s next 4 fights with the stipulation they be against matt skelton/danny willams and michael sprott if enzo steps up to heavy.

whats the likleyhood of ****** accepting these terms?

It makes you think just think if it was Calzaghe and not Hatton (no offence) that split from ******?. He would of been a major superstar.

Not really, Braithwaite proved otherwise. What he is is annoyingly protected. Whether that is all ******'s doing or is partly Enzo's fault I don't know.
