Top 10 most powerful Heavyweights today

I think when judging power you must look at a couple things, 1. how devastating were the knockouts, 2. how many good name oppenents have you knocked out, 3. How many of your wins were by knockout.

1. Wlad- very powerful, almost all of his wins are by knockout.
2. Tua- Has one punch power and has KO's over name fighters.
3. Briggs- 30 of his 42 KO's came in the first round.
4. Peter- Has one punch power that can be devastating to anyone.
5. Brewster- Can Punch with the best of them, great KO%.
6. Corrie Sanders- A fast heavy hitter with either hand just ask Wlad.
7. Rahman- Has KO's over good oppenents, top notch overhand right.
8. Maskaev- Great power, got a couple devastating KO's in his career.
9. Virchis- Big, young, and powerful. Has great KO%.
10. Golota- Power in both hands, good KO% as well.

Honerable mention- Mccall, Arroela, and Chagaev.

You should count David Haye as a Heavyweight now as well. Where would he rank in your list, if at all? I was unsure wether to put him on the list or not, because he just fought at Cruiser. If I was to put him on the list he would take Rahman's spot at 7, he will definitely move up the list once I see a little more of him.:good

Where would you rank Haye in your top 10 most powerful Heavyweights today?

Difficult to say because I firmly believe in his laziness to make weight at Cruiser means that he can get fat at HW thus negating what he's currently good at. Henceforth, we won't see the aformentioned individual at his prime (as such) at the new weight. Thus, I would venture that one will witness lacklustre performances in future bouts. Disregarding this theory however, if he translates his potential, he would be top 6.

I agree with that, he seems to have serious power, I just wonder how well it transcend into the Heavyweight level.

The HWs are impossible to rank in terms of power. At Heavyweight, it's all about who can land flush with their power shots. At the end of the day, they're seriously big and stong blokes. This is why mobility is key. Wlad happens to be the most mobile bloke on the list. I have no idea if he's got the best power but he's got more of an ability to get himself into a position to use it than the other guys.

I have seen very little of Virchis, but from what I did see he is good enough to get the 9 spot. As far as Chagaev goes he is one of my favorite Heavyweights at the moment, but has not shown me the power yet to make the top 10. The 3 top guys he faced he couldnt really hurt at all, but I would put him at 11.

Peter has been able to hurt and Knockdown top tier oppenents like Wlad and Toney, his last couple oppenents were tough guys to knockout IMO. Time will only tell if Peter could get back on the knockout trail, but he can hurt any Heavyweight with one punch IMO.

Virchis is probably in the top two or three on that list, as far as sheer power goes. Everyone who speaks of his power seems to all say the same thing: he's a freak when it comes to power........... but he's far from the best boxer, so his ability to get his freakish power delivered, is hindered.

Wladimiir is probaby as powerful, or more powerful than anyone on that list, but his boxing abiltiy makes the fight too uneven and onesided.


I'd love to see Peter and Virchis go at it. Tua and Peter, as well. These would be some great fights. Virchis and Tua, even.

I wanna see Virchis / Peter or Virchis / Tua in the WORST way. Or Peter / Tua, even. Any combination will do. Wladimiir is probaby as powerful, or more powerful than anyone on that list, but his boxing abiltiy makes the fight too uneven and onesided. I'd love to see a couple of these real heavy punchers, who are also not known for impressive skills, go at it. I honestly havn't seen enough of his Virchis fights to put him in the top 5, but he is definitely powerful. I wish they would show more fights with him on Television, he's a Heavyweight I would like to see more of.:yep

Yea, we really need to see how he stands up to a Rahman or a Ruiz before we start hugging his nuts.
