The lack of optimism clearly shows which side of the fence your bias adheres to. These guys are in the entertainment business and their job is to sell a fight. Mayweather takes arrogance to another level. There is nothing wrong with being supremely confident in your abilities, especially when you are undeniably talented, but Floyd is obscene. It would be brilliant to see someone, anyone, knock him down a peg or two.

hatton is hardly arrogant, all top boxers are self confident otherwise it owuld be pointless even getting on the ring. the reason hatton has the "beers with my mates" line so often is that he's a working class lad with working class mates and he's conscious of appearing to big headed to the friends who he's had for years.

There are people who did/do see Ali as a loud mouth and arrogant, make no mistake about that. There are premium boxers of the past who could also lay claim to be "the greatest". It is by no means conclusive that Ali was, but thats a totally different argument, lets not start that here.

Ali`s retorts were more often than not humorous and sometimes silly in nature. The style in which they were delivered meant they were generally non offencive and throw away.
Mayweathers comments on the other hand are just abrasive, inflammatory, snooty and downright deluded.

Ali was the heavyweight champion of the world and a universally known face all over it. Mayweather is all but unknown to anybody outside the boxing fraternity. An unknown with a mouth the size of.....Hattons fist hopefully :yep

Floyd is going to beat hattons ass. And the reason Floyd smiled at ODH b/c he was missing shots and Floyd was landing clean and flush no matter what ODH did.
