what next for him?
Should he stay at Welterweight? Fight monsters like Cotto or lower his sights to people like Williams and Cintron [who would all probably beat Hatton given their size advantages]
Does he slip back down to light welter to fight the likes of Witter and Rees [:yikes]
Or does he simply retire at the very, very top of the game?

I'd like to see him and Cotto go at it.

Go back down to JW and unify the Division and then retire. 147 is not Ricky's proper weight.
Yer I have to agree with this - Hes got a chance against Floyd but I think cotto etc. would be too strong.

Drop back down to 140, unify the division, then retire.

I agree.
He should do this if he loses, too.

Mega match up with Dela Hoya to permanently secure his financial future and possibly his status and retire. He would retire a overachiever in my eyes.

Why not fight Cotto for all the marbles. Both men would bring fireworks and lots of drunk rowdy fans.
Retire. Right at the top. If he stays at 147 he will get beat, if he goes back down to 140, then he will only be going down in class also. He cannot top a win over PBF, plus he is already the light welter champ anyways, he has all but cleaned the light welters out, there are only prospects like Malignaggi there now. He has said anyway he wants out of the game soon so why not go out absolutely on top of the world, with a legacy, money, and an unblemished record?

Although I would love to see Cotto fight Hatton if Hatton pulls of the great upset I think Hatton deserves more for getting rid of PBF and his bandwagoners. Cotto is not a big enough stage or money. Thats why I say DelaHoya. It would be huge with probably bigger numbers than Hoya vs PBF considering both fighters would bring a huge following not just Dela Hoya

Retire?
And people call Mayweather a runner.

Hatton is undoubtedly a better fighter at 140lbs than welter but if he can beat Mayweather which weight he fights at shouldn't be an issue, whether it be at light welter or welter. He should fight Cotto then drop down and dominate 140lbs until he's ready to retire.

The obvious thing to do for the winner of PBF-Hatton is to fight Cotto. Period.

I said the same shit.
The fights in the stands would be insane....no way I'm seeing that fight live without some sort of protection.

Believe it or not, I think that Hatton holds a much higher chance of beating Cotto in a intense fight fought at very close quarters than he has in penetrating Mayweather's defense and try to connect in a very elusive target. If that very unlikely scenario presents itself, Hatton doesn't have any advantage in coming back to light-welter as Junior Witter and Rees may beat him still and he would not be credited/payed as much as if he lost for a WBC-WBA welterweight unification. I feel Ricky Hatton has in him three great fights still whether he loses or wins against Floyd Mayweather.

I agree, i think that people are over estimating how strong that Cotto would be. I think that Hatton has a much better chance in a brawl with Cotto than when he fights Mayweather.
