Great fighter but after seeing him on Friday Night fights its safe to say this guy is an idiot.
Plus it sounds like hes angry, he said he wanted to kill a guy. He also sounds arrogant.
He couldn't figure out what guy he was talking about, and he just ignored all the in studio questions. I'm guessing they won't be inviting him back anytime soon.

Boxing isn't nuclear physics. Foster has never been a "bright" guy, but tonight he let everyone know on national TV. Sometimes its better to just let someone else author a book about you with a little input. The man isn't going on to any pulitzer greatness!

They gave him a break not mentioning his last title defense was a robbery in his favor. He got beat in 15 rounder by Jorge Ahumada (sp) of Argentina, but they gave Foster the decision.
He's a sheriff. With his attitude, I feel sorry for any prisoners in his custody. Imagine geting pulled over by that asshole. And the hat--what the fuck was he doing wearing that liquer store hat on fnf?

During one of the HOF induction weekends in Canastota, he took it upon himself to tear up a picture of Virgil Hill during a speech, since Hill had recently broken his record of LHW title defenses or something.

In every article I have read about Foster he has come accross as very bitter. In the 80s Spinks caught his grief in print and then in the 90s it was Hill. I was dissappointed when I read and saw his reponse to his peers. Guess he doesn't have any...peers...or manners.

I talked to him for about ten minutes and I found him to be friendly, intelligent and gracious.

no disrespect to L.E.O. -- but the guys been a cop since he retired from boxing, might account for some of the arrogance somtimes after seeing society's worse year in and year out its hard for some L.E.O. to come "off the job" it's not an easy way to make a living.

The only moron in this thread is you. Bob Foster is 70 years old and hard of hearing. The morons at ESPN needed to give Bob an ear piece and script their questions.
I don't know what your hatred for Foster stems from but I will remind you. He ain't suppose to be nice, then or now. He knocked people out for a living and he later arrested them and had them locked up. The man was a bad ass in and out of the ring. What else would you expect a man who caused pain for a living to be like.
You and your co-horts need to watch tennis or golf.

The author of this thread tried to portray Foster as a moron. That was unjust. Then you jump on the band wagon by calling a man you don't know an "asshole" and a "dick". Hardly seems fair does it. Now if it were Tyson we were talking about. Then you would have something.

It is boxing and theater all combined. One man brings a chicken to a pre-fight conference. Another non-Mexican wears Mexican garb into the ring before a fight with a Mexican fighter. One fighter accuses another of not having as much excitement in his 30 plus fights as he did in four rounds of his last fight. IT IS BOXING and theater. One fighter brings a stuffed gorilla to a pre-fight conference. Calls his opponent a gorilla and an Uncle Tom. Another threatens to eat another fighter's kids.
This is not the sport for overly sensitive people.

Get real. The other examples you give are of active fighters who have the potential to face the person they are going on about. This is a man who has been retired for decades. He has no pragmatic axe to grind. This, then, differs completely from the fight hype drama prevalent in your examples.

Nice cut and paste but it is true.
I was there the night Bob Hazelton beat him by TKO. It was sort of a fluke actually. Hazelton caught Foster with a good right hand and Bob hurt his leg when he went down. I remember Foster's corner man shouting "We don't need this"! over and over again.
I almost got into it with Hazelton that night. I told him he could only beat bums and has-beens. A few months later, I was there when Lucien Rodriguez ([Only registered and activated users can see links]) stopped Hazelton in the third round.
I met Hazelton again at the gym we worked out together for a few months until he moved to Las Vegas. I never reminded him of the night he fought Foster. He was big son of a bitch. The last time I saw Hazelton was right after he lost both legs to steroid abuse. He was benching 275 at the time.

In your dreams.
Michael Spinks was an extremely adaptable fighter, who came out on top during one of the best 175 lb. eras in history and beat a solid number of quality fighters.
And not only was he one of the greatest light heavys ever, but he was at one point the real heavyweight champion of the world as well.
