An excellent question.Ruben Olivares is basically exhibit A as to why I generally am pissed off at matchmakers.First of all,he had a ton of fights & kayo's before he won the bantamweight title.Unless you were from the southwest USA or Mexico, you probably weren't going to see him fight live. When I finally saw tapes of him I wanted to shoot all the "matchmakers".His weakness apparently was that he had a reputation of not training seriously;when he was right,he was a killer(Alexis Arguello was just too big for him at 126).I don't think Tapia was exceptional at 126.Tapia and Olivares is a fight I wouldn't complain about on PPV.I think I'd take Olivares.

Possibly a little sooner than 11. Olivares was a master at breaking down a fighter body and head and Tapia was always there for the taking.

I think he might mean this fight would be at 118. Tapia is still too small, though. Olivares was amazing when he was in shape and focused.
Olivares stops him.

Olivares stops him....probably 118.I don't know that Tapia is too small. He "won" a featherweight title_I thought on a bad call...I just pick Olivares to win.
