I am a big Ricky Hatton fan and I'd love to see him win.

However, I'm torn. I want to see Cotto-Mayweather also with both undefeated. But when the time comes, I'll be rooting for Hatton.

I had to vote Hatton, I really cant stand Mayweather.

On technique yea I'm very sure Mayweather is simply superb, but his style to me is by no means the most entertaining in the world.

I'm rooting for Mayweather. This will be the second future Hall of Famer he will have faced this year. He went up in weight to fight a top 15 fighter his last time out, and now he's stepping it up to fight a top 10 fighter. And not just any top 10 fighter. A prime, undefeated legitimate 2 division champ(that shiney WBA belt that Cotto sports actually belongs to Hatton), who posses many of the tools needed to beat a fighter of Floyd's calliber. This will be a huge challenge, but I see Mayweather pulling out the victory and securing his second fighter of the year award in what will be an exciting, action packed fight.

Hatton, gotta go with the underdog on this one. I'd put money on Floyd though.

Definitely Hatton but if he does win he'll probably just scoot back to 140 where the competition is much softer and rob the fans of the fights we want to see him make at welter. I just don't see him wanting to face big strong opponents like Cotto, Margo, Williams, Cintron etc. He might be able to overpower Floyd but he had a life and death struggle with light hitting Collazo so that must weigh heavy on his mind if he plans on staying at 147 which I think is a longshot personally.

This exact same question came up a little while ago and my answer is still the same....

While I think Mayweather is an absolute asshole, I despise Hatton's clinching mauling style more than anything else... and what I want is for Floyd to expose that style and leave Hatton's face looking like a bloody catcher's mitt by the end of the fight.

Same here. Just hate the way he fights.

Since after Zoo I've really been going off Hatton... the constant clinching has got under my skin, in particular the hanging on for dear life against Collazo and the hanging on so he didnt have to fight against Urango. When I watched the Castillo fight I thought that's better, less clinching, but upon rewatching its still there too much for my liking.

That said I havent been too keen on Mayweaather's risk aversion back foot defence style either.

Ultimately I went with Hatton bcause he's the good guy in this hero vs villain tale but if he wins by holding then I'll be rooting for the other guy next time...

Who do you actually want to win, Ricky Hatton or Floyd Mayweather? :bbb

Hatton has become the Ocsar De La Hoya of Europe. Boxing needs a big draw. A man who can sell out a stadium that can hold 70,000 people. Hatton is that man.

Mayweather has some special skills, but he's an arrogant jerk who had threatened to quit boxing on more than one occasion.

I am for Hatton. He is better for boxing.

I'de rather Mayweather won so he can talk a bit more trash and then get smashed on by Cotto..

Money got this....he hasn't been in any interviews or said anything as well as his camp since dancing with the stars. He is in the lab and is really brewing up something special for everyone....whether you like or dislike him...can't wait.

PBF hands down. Hatton's lack of overall boxing skills will be exposed by PBF.

Hatton obviously. And I think it'll be very close. Maybe even a draw. mayweather will HAVE to fight though. If he tries to pot shot and leg it, it won't impress the American judges, who routinely score favourably for aggression

I second that, and like fatdrunkenslob said I don't expect Hatton to face Cotto if he does indeed beat Mayweather.

The Pretty Boy Floyd MAyweather.
DOnt see why I would root against him, yeah he talks s**t but he backs it up.
He trains his a** off, stays in shape, and come fight night he gets the job done. So dont see a reason not 4 him 2 win.

Hatton is a cool dude 2. BUt Floyd is one of my favorite fighters, so g2 rock with PBF

I don't pay much attention to boxer's atitude outside the ring. I rather appreciate what they can actually do in a ring.

Mayweather acting like a spoiled brat doesn't preclude his unique skills. Hatton's a boxer I also appreciate yet his skill level is nowhere close to Mayweather's.

Hatton appears to be a likable guy outside the ring but that doesn't change my perception of him as a boxer.

I have a particular liking for very skilled boxers; for me it all started with Cassius Clay.

Mayweather is the one I'd like to see win because it sends the message that high technical skills has the better of athleticism or brute force.

Mind you, Hatton is a fairly balanced fighter so I won't lose sleep should he upsets Mayweather.

Interview with Floyd showing his total lack of respect for Hatton and his Boxing record.Self-suggestion, part of mental preparation. The man is convinced he's something special. Seems to work for him.

His track record kind of proves it.

I like the fact Floyd in the interview says he respects Hatton as a man.....and that he is going to have to earn his respect as a boxer...i thought that was classy.
