I just watched Vargas-Winky fight and it was very interesting to see a young and fresh version of Vargas. I had the fight even, but if there was a winner, it was Winky. It was not a robbery, like much people say.
But Winky, the same way he did on the Taylor fight, gave away the last round in a close fight, throwing only 25 puches. Merchant had the fight even and Letterman (with a senseless scorecard) had 7-5 to Winky.
My scorecard was : v(argas)-w(inky)-v-v-w-w-v-w-w-v-w-v
Did anyone watch this fight ? Do you think it was a robbery ?
Wasn't it interesting to see a young Vargas and a dumb Winky giving the last round away ?
By the way, I downloaded it at [Only registered and activated users can see links] ([Only registered and activated users can see links])
It was a close fight. Just like the Taylor fight, I was ok with it going either way.
Winky fans love to say he was robbed and are able to get away with it because many people havent seen the fight.

I just watched and scored the Vargas-Winky fight and I scored it a draw. I didn't find this to be a very difficult fight to score. Vargas won 1,3,4,7,10,12. Winky won 2,5,6,8,9,11. If Winky had jabbed and boxed a bit more (as in rounds 5 and 11) he could have won this fight, but it should have been a draw. The judge that scored it 116-112 Vargas must have been blind. No robbery here and I am a much bigger Winky fan, but the fight is clearly a draw.

I felt bad for Wink, he won it but they gave it to Vargas.

I scored the fight 7-5 in favour of Wright but a number of rounds were close and a draw wasn't a robbery at all. I can see how anyone could score it even though Vargas didn't really do enough to win in my opinion.

Im trying to download it as we speak, I haven't seen alot of footage of a prime Vargas, considering how green the guy was he pushed Winky very hard.

you guys have to take into account that winky threw his hands in the air during the fight, so that gives him an extra round. Also, Winky gets 2 extra rounds for crying for 5 years after not winning a close fight in which he gives away late rounds. It takes a hell of a fighter to cry for years and avoid rematches.

That's how I scored the fight as well after rewatching the fight.

No way a robbery but a VERY close fight. I thought Vargas pulled it out but it could have gone either way. But I feel that Vargas was the winner that night by the slimmest of margins. 1 round.

I think that I had Winky winning by four points. He did give away the last round though.

I just saw the fight for the first time and it wasn't a robbery. And i'm a big Wright fan. This was a very tough fight to score because there was so much action in close quarters with both guys landing. If you are a Vargas fan, i can easily see how one can see him winning the fight. If you are a Wright fan, i can easily see how one can see him winning the fight.
But in the end, i had it Wright 7-5.

i think vargas was lucky to get it.

Watched the fight agian on Classic and what ive always said remains the same I have it a draw or a 1 point fight either way this time I had it a draw but theres 2 very close rounds I had split between the 2 and if I gave both to any its a round fight. The judge who had Vargas winning by 4-5 is retarted but these folks who think Winky was robbed are just plain fucked up in the head.

The thing that frustrates me about Winky is he always gives up the last round. When Hopkins fought him i finally got to prove my friend, whos a big Winky fan, that he'd lose bcuz Hopkins ALWAYS wins the last round and Winky always coasts. Vargas was still talkin tough out of his ass for trying to be hard but avoiding a rematch with Winky.
Wasn't a robbery but i had it 6-5-1 Winky. I can understand 7-5 Winky, 7-5 Vargas or 6-6.
