View Full Version : Do we really want to DLH-Hatton

After all the talk about how DLH is past his best and not the fighter he was after being beat by Mayweather, is it really a good move for Hatton. It seems he has everything to lose and really not much to gain except a name on his resume that people will continually dispute like they do already with PBF. If he wins then there goes any chance of a fight with Mayweather in the future to cement his legacy.
To be honest I think later this year it should be Maglianni-Hatton and PBF-Mosley and then if they both get through those tests next spring Hatton-PBF. It will do both their credibility a lot of good even if in the short term it wont be as good for the Hatton money especially Maloney weasles his way back in.

DLH would knock Hatton out cold. He is far too small and has no defense. So, while I would watch it, it is really not a fair fight.

How do you compare fighting a junior welterweight to a Massive heavyweight?

I wish Oscar would have retired after he got dusted off by Hopkins. I really don't care to see him fight anyone. Too many other good fights to be made.

THis is a win/win situation for Hatton. If he pulls out a victory (unlikely but i can see a gassed out DLH losing most of the later rounds) he has a HUGE name on his resume. If he loses he will still walk away with an enormous amount of cash and losing to someone two weight classes above you doesn't look that bad.

Thats the thing if Hatton wins will it really be that good on his CV, look how everyone is already crticising Floyd about it saying Oscar was well past his best.

Hatton would get the same critism, to a much lesser extent for sure though. Unless Oscar looked really bad or something.

Maybe, so long as Wlad is drugged !
It's the only way to get Hatton to fight, he would hug Maeweather to death and we would all fall asleep. PBF would run all night long trying to avoid the hold and hit (behind the head, with the elbows) style of Hatton. There would be extreme boredom throughout. Oscar could and would be a dogfight. Hatton would not be able to take the abuse handed out by Oscar, but we would see a dogfight.
