gonzales to adopt the style he has needs more power and handspeed that does not look stuck in slow motion.

cannot remember when i have seen slower handspeed even from a heavy.

good workrate and obvioulsy not hurt but sturm should have hit him at will and not let him get in close all fight.

sturm took no chances boxed behind the high guard , but it was a routine fight.

Gonzales has not even fought anyone yet, much less defeat good opposition.Gonzales had no power, so he couldnt KO Sturm. Gonlales was a novice boxer with only 14 fights and I doubt much of an amatuer career , so he was not going to outbox Sturm. How many amatuer and pro fights has fights has Sturm had, many ;the guy had no chance.

I think sturm is a joke fighting a guy like this and not seeking a real fight.

I would kinda like to see him fight in the US but personally what I'd like the most is for him to face a decent opponent on either side of the pound.

I lost a lot of respect for him when this fight was made. One day he's talking shit about AA. The next AA say fuck it I'll fight ya. And the next day he signs to fight the #15 ranked guy by the WBA.....I mean comon you pussy grow a pair.

had sturm behind 113-115. still wouldn't call it robbery.. he was the champ, it was close, it's ok either way.

alcoba showed a lot of heart. he came the long way to germany, was a total underdog, but he still managed to go to the very distance. sturm on the other hand didn't impress me at all, so why not hand the belt to the guy on the rise (sturm is shot)? i had it even until the last round so i could choose by judging their heart in the 12th who deserves it more.. and it was clearly alcoba.

look, i thought that sturm totally sucked cause he basically did just enough to win.......eventhough the other guy was there to hit and hit hard.

sturm fought like a coward vs an undeserving challenger. but he did outpoint alcoba.

so i guess we can all agree that people will only call "robbery" when there really was a robbery in germany. see.

except when the whole pride of a nation sticks to one fighter, and this fighter gets knocked out in a rematch by a feather-fisted german. that's the way even clear knockouts can turn into robberies.

Which is all that really matters: WIN. Having said that, I don't see how he will ever be given the chance to fight guys such as Jermain Taylor or Winky Wright with performances like this. I guess there would be huge interest in a Arthur Abraham vs Felix Sturm fight in Germany, although it's unlikely to happen anytime soon. And if he wants people to take him seriously it's one (or more) of those three guys he has to beat. Until that happens he's nothing more than a paper champ.

depends. when you have a totally undeserving challenger like alcoa, who really is nothing more than a regional type of fighter you better not ONLY WIN!!

you better produce a rout. sturm didnt.

but i totally agree with the rest. unless he can step up, he is a paper champ.

Gonzales has a great chinn and heart. I used to like Sturm a lot, he has a very big mouth but was not able to ko number 90 on boxrec. I am very disappointed concerning the matchmaking and his fight. He clearly won, but against whom? The stupid audience was very happy and he also seemed to be proud beating a nobody, very sad for a "champion". Great title defence!:hat

how can someone think that gonzalez won? he is sooooo sloooooow and has zero power behind punches, which went almost exclusively on the guard. i haven't seen a lighter punching middleweight in a long time. he surely couldn't ko me in one round. sturm didn't do very much either, maybe he saw this as another sparring session. if he really wants to go to america he better steps up. he will not fight abraham because abraham is a warrior and he would crack sturm.

Sturm showed a flawless performance against a very game challenger.
Of course Alocola didnt deserve that titel shot at,but to be fair he gave his best trying to dethrone the champ.Though he lost almost every round against STurm he didnt enter the ring to lose and made Sturm sweat and work for money.

However,I wouldnt bet a single coin on Sturm in a bout against Artur Abraham.
Alcola couldnt crack an egg with his punches-Abraham plays in a totally different league.

Sturm's next fight is his mandatory Randy Griffin.Sturm can beat him,and these kind of fighers are his limit.
Taylor,Abraham,Pavlik, and so on would probably beat him.
