Kind of weird for a guy with only thirteen fights but he just schooled a guy who recently lost a debatable decision to Valuev in a title fight so IMO Povetkin has graduated from "prospect" to contender.

Contender indeed. I did not expect him completely outboxing Donald, who just recently lost a controversial decision to Vaulev.I am anxsiously waiting to know who his next opponent might be.

Still a prospect, but reaching contender status quite rapidly. I'd like
a calvin brock level opponent next for sasha.

As stated a fight with Brock would perfect at this stage.

Has to be a contender now , prospects don't have shutout wins over a guy like Larry Donald .

Contender partially because he not only appears to have polished all around skills that he just put on display to dominate a top 15 guy but also because the heavyweights are a pretty weak bunch atm, (especially past #5).

Also still waiting to see his chin tested for real.

Contender - the oppostion this kid has been facing establishes him at least as a top 20 guy, if not borderline top 15.

Could he handle Byrd or Brock ? He stops Brock in 10 and Byrd by UD at this stage in his career imo.

I gotta buy one of Povetkins videos...I aint seen him yet, but i sure wanna:hi:
Well if you just want to see him fight and don't mind the quality have a look on youtube . I think almost all of his fights have at least some clips from them there .

Contender now. But lets not forget that Povetkin was one of the most dominating amateur heavy weights of all times.
he isnt a " normal" heavy weight-so to speak!

He is around #15.
Donald showed his age.

Contender. Donald had an even fight with Valuev and beat Evander Holyfield. A win over Donald is enough to put you in contention.

Still a prospect for me, i do not count people as contenders untill they are one maybe two fights away from a serious world title bid i also do not include many so called gate keepers in the contender bracket. Povetkin is really good ad has a decent enough chance to unify but i hope they dont think about that untill at least next year, put him in with some dangerous or awkward fighters first to smooth out the edges.

Top 15 definently.
I think he could beat everyone in the world today but hasnt done enough to warrant a higher ranking as of now.

Povetkin is on the right track.. He is almost ready but why risk him when time is on your side. Povetkin on skill level is a contender.. He himself is ready in his mind and he is very self beleiving.. He was a prospect when he was facing Mayfield and Ahunanya, but after demolishing Bostice double quick and dominating a still active Donald he is way beyond prospect.. In 12 months he is gonna be challenging for one title or another..
He's a contender, but I wouldn't think him ready to fight for a title now, unless he's after a record of least fights to the title. it'd be good for him to be in with some punchers now, such as Tua, as was suggested, but also someone young. Chambers, Maddalone, or Timor Ibragimov would all be good fights, basically anything that tested him against another supposed up and comer, even one not at the level he seems to be.
