Are they related?
Both born in Kursk but are listed from different hometowns.

Brothers. And they have listed the same hometown, it's just a different transcription of the same city name.

It's his brother. He's not as good as Alexander though.

He had a break of several years from boxing.According to the news he looked great against that Eyptian who gave his pro debut on Donald vs Povetkin.
The Eyptian used to be a decent amateur though.
Sorrowly, I havent seen that fight.

Well he has a master of sports, though not an MSMK or ZMS status as an amateur, so he can't have been a top tier Russian amateur. I heard boxing went difficult for him because he had brittle hands. Can't seem to recall the source though.

Vladimir looked poor in his pro debut in March and it`s was suddenly to see him sharp and fast yesterday. He floored his opponent four times and looked impressive enough. Only thing to correct right now in younger Povetkin - his weight. 178 pounds is too much. It would be great to put him in 160, let it even be 168, but not higher.
