How would Hatton fan react if Hatton gets abuse? Will they admit that he is overratted? Will they turn there backs on him? I wanna see how the UK fans react if Hatton gets abuse.

I presume what you meant to say was if gets badly beaten in the fight. Getting "abuse" implies people calling him names. Losing to the most talented fighter in the world is no shame and does not make him overrated.

Abuse from who?,the american fans?,mayweather?,or do you mean if he gets abused in the fight by mayweather?,as he gets taking apart
If that is the case,i'll say well done mayweather, bad luck ricky, you now know your limitations

agreed no shame in that....boxing fans are notorious for dumping their man when someone looses.....

He's fighting the best boxer in the world so he won't be classed as overrated unless it is a beating of Gatti proportions (which isn't gonna happen).
Whatever the outcome his fans will never turn their back on him, he's by far the most popular boxer in the UK and has by far the biggest fanbase. They're as loyal as they come.

Dont worry we are used to losing,we just lost the world cup, lost the Euro qualifier. We will blame it on the foreigners if Hatton loses
Of course we will blame the forgeiners. It will be a forgeiner that would have beaten him retard! :good

He will have lost to the best fighter in the world. No shame in that, a fighter going up in weight, facing the p4p 1 he should loose.

What happen if Mayweather beats him like he beat Gatti? Will you still stay by him? I don't think people will stay by him. I think it will be a another Miranda situation. People will love him till he loses and then hate on him and call him overrated. I'm curious to see how the UK and Hatton fans react if Hatton get the beating of his life.

Has Hatton fucked your boyfriend or something?

You obviously don't understand Hatton's UK fan base. Trust me, most people will stand by him whatever happens.

You guys know boxing fans. Look what happen when Miranda lost to Kelly Pavlik. Everybody turn there back on him saying the whole time they knew he was overratted and shit like that. I think if Hatton gets a bad beating people will leave his bandwagon and jump to Joe C. bandwagon.

I gave my opinion further up the thread, 90% of his fanbase will stay loyal no matter what happens.

I'm a big fan of PBF too mate. But it's spelt 'loss', not lost.
To answer your original question, I'm just happy to see these two guys fighting, it's going to be great. Whoever loses, they're still a great fighter, just look at their records.:good

Hatton had a huge fanbase when he was WBU Light Welter Champion, drawing in excess of 5,000-10,000 fans at his mid career fights. He has the fanbase because over here, where there are so many prima donna sports stars, Z list celebraties, etc, he has kept to his roots, and generally represents the 'every man'.
He has gained respect throughout his acheivements, and fans. He will only lose those new fans who perhaps dont appreciate his persona outside of the boxing ring. If he loses against Floyd I can safetly predict he will have over 15,000 fans at his next fight. I couldn't say the same about Floyd if he loses.

I guarentee you we will stick with him, mate. Trust me. You don't seem to understand the bond between Ricky and his fans and besides that, the Brits love a loser, we love to back up someone who isn't quite good enough (even better if they are terrible, Eddie the Eagle, anyone?) and we love the underdog. Which is why Brits are supporting Iraq in the war against you (except in the places controled by Britain):tong

You're wrong mate, really. I absolutely promise you that won't happen. I am as sure as it is possible to be. Please believe me.
I hope this won't be proved to you too soon but in two weeks time, if Mayweather wins (I don't doubt that Ricky is the underdog) you will see just what I mean. His support could actually get stronger. A lot depends on how he handles defeat.

Hatton will not fight after this fight,he is too proud to get beat again
Why do you keep talking as though you are some kind of authority on Ricky Hatton? You obviously don't like him, that's fair enough but because you don't like him you don't pay real attention to him or what is happening around him, so really you know nothing about him or his career.
You are completely obsessed! Every single thread I see about Ricky, you are the most common poster and every one of your posts is the same fucking rubbish, slagging him off for the sake of it without having anything of interest to say. You work on guess work and it is embarassing to read your posts.
Your posts stand out to me, not just because they are so idiotic but because they are so wrong and yes, I do know for a fact that they are wrong because I know Ricky, he lives down the road from me, my dad has a drink with him at times and some of my friends and family are close to him. That is why I get angry when I read your shite, it is just so ridiculous! Everything you write about him is wrong and it stands out like a sore thumb.
OK, OK! You can't stand him. I have no idea why at all, it seems strange to me that you would have such strong feelings for him (are you a Red by any chance?) but whatever, that is fair enough.
You obviously don't think he is in the same league as Floyd. Again, fair enough, your opinions are worthy and I'm sure you know your boxing.
You think that Ricky won't have a chance in the ring with Floyd. Ok, I dunno myself, of course I hope Ricky wins but Floyd is something special and right now, I fear it is Floyd's fight.
All that is fine. All I ask is you stop going on and on and on about the same old thing, there is no point getting so angry here about someone you don't know, just support your lad don't and this is most important, don't make things up, don't use so much guess work. No one is going to think anything more of you just because you have an opinion, they will infact think less of you if they remember what you said and you are eventually proved wrong.
Just stop guessing and stop making things up. That's all I ask mate.
Cheers

Hehe. No, I just mean that generally we do love a loser, we get sick easily of winners, we tend to do our best to drag someone down as soon as they reach the top. I'm sure that won't happen with Rick because he is such a sound lad.
What I mean regarding Ricky is, even if he does lose, no one is going to think less of him and depending on how he handles the defeat, depending on what his choices are he could very possibly end up even more loved than he is now.

Very good point, Scouse. Bruno became one of the most popular people in our country mainly because he got battered by Tyson. That and he was a lovely feller with a top laugh.

We know you think that, you have said so in every one of your posts. We, who are actually British and are actually boxing supporters and Hatton supporters are telling you different and we are telling you we know without a shadow of a doubt that your assumption is wrong.
So please at least consider what we are saying. If you are not going to pay any attention to what we say and you are just going to keep regurgitating your original thoughts, then what the hell was the point in asking the question in the first place?

Fucking hell people, just look at the legions of fans that still follow are beyond shit football team, you guys dont understand that here sport is still seen as something you try and do,and though we big up are guys and teams,to most fans we damn well know we are not the best,we just like to see our guys give it a go.
I mean it has taking till we fucked up the qualifiers for next years europeon champs for people to finaly turn on the football team and even then the manager got more abuse then the team, and yet come the next match,it will im telling you honestly a sell out.
We will still slag them off when they fuck up though, but in rickys case he will be fine no matter what happens.
Also have you all seen the amount of threads saying "when mayweather wins",and "how will the brits cope when hatton losses",seems to me theres an awful lot of either over confident yanks about,or that probaly they have seen the state ricky is in(superb) and are shitting themselves ever so slightly.

That's it Joe, innit?
By being on this board, I have really been noticing the difference in the way the Yanks support and the way we do (and not just because they think we are hooligans if we so much as sing!).
One of the most important things for us, is that the player/team/boxer puts everything he has got into it, isn't it Joe? And Ricky does that. Ricky puts more into his fights than anyone I have seen.
If one day he started sitting back, getting lazy, not putting any passion into it, we would think "Ahh, he's taking the piss now.. he's here for the fucking cheque" and that is when we will start walking away from him. But only then.

Strandl. I have complete respect for your opinion on his fighting skills and for your feelings about how the fight will go. Good on you, it's good that you are so open about it, some people are scared to say anything incase they are proved wrong.
That isn't the problem.
Please just read some of your posts and I'm sure if you distance yourself from them, you will see why people are getting a bit frustrated with you.
Anyway, Ricky is a right fat cunt when he isn't in training. I look forward to seeing what he looks like when he retires.:D

Take taylor as a great example mate, before the pavlik fight he was gonna win and was a great, that was said by loads on here, the very second he lost, his own fans on here bar a few wanted fuck all to do with him hehe, some fucking great fans there for sure.
If hatton gets KOed i'll still like him,he was just outclassed thats all,its hardly a fucking crime to lose to someone so good now is it,but you watch you'll get threads about him being a loser and shit:-( when in fact all he will have done is lost to the best fighter in ther world
