a freind of mine taught me this new jab technique i learned. most probbaly know about it, but incase you didnt. he said that you should rotate your thumb a little past parralel soo you dont hyper extend your elbow as easily if you miss

i do. ib have for about 6 months. even tho i dont sound good from my posts im pretty good.

i would keep my fist horizontal to the ground. he taught me to turn them a little more. anyone else do this?

Yes.. That move is Kryptonite if you get in gang fight and someone breaks your nose...

IM also a noob and saw this ^^^ seems to give the jab more of a snapy feel to it when iv tried it

:patsch i think thats the way everyone learns how to throw jabs, do they not teach you at your gym?

you said you have been boxing for 6 months, thats a good amount of time to get good or at least decent.

i was taught to fully extend the jab and be use to missing and your elbow locking just incase you miss it in a fight you wont get hurt.

This is true, my former trainer at Wildcard always said make sure you turn the thumb down when you shoot the jab then rotate it back up as you bring your hand back.
in other words wax on wax off, it also brings your shoulder up higher to protect you from getting countered on the chin.
