View Full Version : craziest fighter ever

im not talking about crazy as in "he has crazy good skills" im talking crazy like out of his fucking mind. i think number one has got to be tyson due to his obvious violent nature and of course the ear biting nature. and then andrew golota. i mean he is a headcase. he threw away two victories over riddick bowe apparently just cuz he felt like hitting the guy in the nuts a bunch of times. who knows?!? and then theres gotta be a nod given out to oliver mccall simply based on that breakdown in the ring he had against lewis.

Crazy inside the ring: Andrew Golota
Crazy outside of the ring: Ike Ibeabuchi

There's been a lot of crazy guys. Clifford Etienne is surely a recent example. The guy began his boxing career in prison and it surely ended back in prison when he went on an insane GTA style crime spree back in 2005. He's serving 150 years. :patsch

Tyson is probably the craziest guy I can think of in terms of the sport itself. Biting someone's ear off, trying to break a guy's arm, that whole "I want to eat his children" rant, attacking Lewis at press conference and biting his god damn leg, and so on. Total crackpot.

Yeah. Johny Tapia=crazy. The guy is self destruction defined. He would get on the rock and just disapear for weeks. Rumors are that he would be on the streets like a homeless person, high out of his mind, with his wife having no idea where he was. How he was ever able to get it together for a fight career is beyond me.

Puking on the judges is the coolest thing ever, though.

I dont know if anyone can remember but we had a fighter in the UK when i was young called Kirkland Laing,he beat the great Roberto Duran i think and he was one of the craziest fighters i have seen in the ring,he never used to hold his gloves up and defend himself,a bit like Naz,a complete showman,Sadly out of the ring i think he fell on really hard times and lost the plot a little.

I guess the answer depends on whether you are counting only incidents during fights or those outside the ring as well. For things that happened during fights I'd say Golota, but if you are counting outside the ring incidents, the Foul Pole isn't even close to the top ten.

Golota is a crazy dude. Look at this  It was around 10 years ago.

"Boxer Andrew Golota was charged with impersonating a police officer during a traffic stop and was freed on bail.

Golota, who gained notoriety for quitting in the second round of an October 2000 fight against Mike Tyson, was arrested Monday by Illinois State Police after allegedly showing an officer a badge and claiming he was a New Jersey police officer during a traffic stop.

Will County prosecutors said Golota, 34, received the honorary badge from the police department in Hudson County, N.J., for performing charity work.

An Illinois state trooper, who pulled Golota over for allegedly driving past a stop sign, checked with New Jersey police to determine if the badge was legitimate. Golota, who was driving a black Mercedes Benz, admitted he was not a police officer when the trooper came back to question him, according to authorities.

The boxer spent the night in the Will County jail and appeared before Associate Judge Kathleen Kallan on Tuesday on a misdemeanor charge of attempted false personation of police, a Class A misdemeanor that carries a maximum sentence of a year in jail and a $2,500 fine on conviction.

The judge set his bail at $5,000 and scheduled a March 5 court date. Golota posted a $500 bond."

Either James "The Harlem Hammer" Butler or Battling Siki.

Butler: Broke and opponent's jaw with a sucker punch after the fight was over and his opponent when to give him a hug; killed Sam Kellerman; was a confirmed bipolar schizophrenic

Siki: Owned a pet lion with which he used to walk through the streets of New York and Paris; Would just randomly start shooting guns in the air for no reason; lost a number of fights by DQ; crazy alcoholic who was basically drunk at all times and completely unpredictable.

Valero and Ibeabuchi are also good shout outs. All four guys I'm pretty sure are/were certifiably insane, although Valero and Siki were never to my knowledge diagnosed with anything.

the incident that lead up to holmes drop kicking him from the roof of a parked car was started when berbick interrupted a press conference and decided to tell everyone a made up story that Holmes' happily married wife was actually a street hooker ,

I'd say Ketchel was far more unstable outside the ring and inside the ring alot of what Golota did was standard parts of the game back them. Both guys are Polish, not sure what conclusions to draw from that if any. :think

Duran too - Someone told a story on here about seeing a interview with Duran on Panamanian TV when he still fought there. Roberto told a story of a guy trying to start shit with him on the street. Roberto said he knocked him out then took out his Machete (yes he was walking the streets with a Machete for some reason) and carved the word Duran into his forearm so he would know who to come see if he wanted retribution.
