My thoughts are that Danny is well past his sell by date and needs to retire (again) before he gets further beatings.

he was in the shape of his life by all accounts in his last fight and had really put the hard yards in, come on danny, one last win then retire on a high!

Well,I am quite interested in Danny vs Platov.I for my part think that Danny can still provide us with some good fights. It doesnt really matter whether he loses or wins as long as he performes well and gives us the pleasure of an entertaining fight.
Besides I am curious how Platov fares against another good name after his point decision over Akinwande.

He got koed by Audley. Enough said.

You're ignoring the context of that loss, Patsys - very unobjective...

It doesn't matter in what context. If you get beat by Audley, you are a bum in my books. No buts and ifs whatsoever.

Yep, that was prime/peak Audley that night vs a fat, overweight, unprepared Williams

Yes, that's how it's expressed in the US (i.e. December 8th in the US vs 8th of December in UK).

The slash method of date nomenclature came after US independence, so it would make sense that the US and UK might do it differently.

I think I can speak on behalf of all ESB poster that nobody gives a shit about his next fight. You don't speak on my behalf. Danny Williams has got more balls than any of the so called "top" heavyweghts out there today, and if you've ever seen his fights you would know that for yourself.

He is a talented B-level fighter, but he doesn't always prepare properly (if at all), and seems to lose it mentally every now and again. He has a lot of raw talent, and a lot of heart, and looks really impressive in some fights, and awful in others. If he could hook up with a decent trainer and discipline himself, he could be a top 10 fighter, and possibly hold a world title.

I'm definitely interested in this fight, if he can lay off the cakes and fight to his actual potential.

This is a nice little post but Danny is mid 30s now. I know the HW's can be older but Williams has taken his fair share of big punches during his career. I don't think he can even make it back to European champion level anymore to be honest. Danny just needs to retire. The time has come and gone when he could have made a good impact.

If your biggest claim to fame is beating a totally shot and severaly injured Mike Tyson, you are no way a good fighter in my books..no buts and ifs whatsoever.

If you are only purely after guys' balls, you should watch porn.

I had to look up his age (he's 34, I thought he was 32) and you're probably right, and it's frustrating having seen him waste a lot of his potential, although I still respect what he HAS achieved when he's been motivated. I'll just think of him embarrassing Audley to cheer myself up :good

This is a great oportunity for redemption for Danny, one last push to make something worthy in his career and maybe catch a belt somewhere.

Platov will have the chance to put his name at the mix, with a win. Anyway, he is still 24, so a loss will not hurt him so much as he will have a lot of time to recover.

This should be a good bout.
