After his quick loss to Rampage and then lackluster performance against Jardine with another loss against Wanderleigh I would think it would be time to stick a fork in Chuck. But with the confusion in the division as to who is the #1 contender is a big win or 2 and you can be right back in it.

I think Chuck was exposed as a guy who specializes against wrestlers or grapplers and that his stand up is good with good power but not great.

Thia should be a great fight and I can't pick a favorite at this point but If Chuck should lose 3 staight in the UFC it's safe to say it's curtains

Well wouldnt u say the same for Wanderlei ? His 2 straight brutal KO losses to guys he beat in his prime have been basically forgot.

Meh. Should be an interesting fight.

Wand was always pretty famous for his intesity, staredowns. I know it sounds silly, last couple times he has fought, he didn't come in with the same intensity, and didn't have that crazy, I want to rip your head, giddy staredown.

Seemed more like, "Yeah, I'm supposed to have a mean staredown, lets get this over with staredown." Followed by more cautious fighting..

He used to seem like the type of guy whe genuinely wanted to hurt his opponents and couldn't wait to do so. Impulsive, aggressive and dangerous.

Chucks famous enough to keep fighting for big money, although maybe in other orgs, for as long as he chooses.

The timing for this fight couldn't have been any worst.

Look at the bright side of it. They are both on losing streaks. If Chuck hadn't lost, the fight may have never happened, ever.

It could be. Depends on how it affects him if he loses. If the drive is gone, yes. If he is physically done, maybe. If he looks okay in defeat, doubtful.

It really depends on what he does afterward. If he gets another high profile win, you could see him around for a while.

It is important to note that Chuck may not be a worse fighter than he was a couple of years ago. Against Jackson, he got caught. That happens. Against Jardine, he fell victim to his own game plan. He has become so used to guys following him, and then getting one of his heavy handed blows in; that he just kept waiting for that to happen in his last fight. He should have taken the fight to the ground, or tried anything other than what he did.

To be honest, if either of these guys gets KOed badly, I think they're through. Like was pointed out, Liddell has two losses in a row. And Silva also has a couple recent losses, both of which were by brutal KO. When Cro Cop high kicked him, Silva looked like he had one foot in the grave. This is a make it break it fight for both men. Even the winner probably won't fight too much longer. There's a lot of wear and tear on these guys.

I think Chuck has to get out of his 1 punch gameplan if he is going to succeed. you can only get away with that for so long.....even though he has done it for years...it's not going to work on every body. He should even get real crazy and throw a leg kick, or a high kick.....he's become to predictable.....that's part of his demise.

Silva should rate more chances imo. We all know he doesn't have the best chin, but his losses were against guys that were no joke. Crocop was at one of the highest points in his career, extremely confident and actually aggressive with his standup instead of being the typical opportunist.

Hendo.. Fuck. He landed some spinning back fists to set up a brutal KO. It was brilliant, the punch that landed on Silva that got everything going was one that probably would have caught anybody. Very unexpected thing to see, and hard to defend against.

Wand loses again, against Chuck? I guess he could retire. But, I wouldn't be upset if he didn't. The guy doesn't get a tune up, comes to the ufc and is fighting for his career. The fight HAS to happen now, but if he loses, I would like to see more of him, depending on how the fight goes of course.

But Wanderlei is only 32 while Chuck is 38.Wandy may be young but that kid has a tremendous amount of mileage. His been doing this for sometime and the wear and tear is really showing. To be honest Wandy is made for Chuck.Id expect Chuck to have him KO`ed inside of 2 rounds.

Pretty true. Theoretically it should be a bad matchup for Liddel, Just like Wand is a bad matchup for Rampage.

Wand, vulnerable to an accurate striker. Thing is, I don't think anybody at light heavy or below can really defend against Wands knees. Once he gets that thai clinch, he's pretty much lethal. If he can get that hold on Liddel, he's getting teeth knocked out.

Still. Very vulnerable. Wand will use kicks, he has them in his arsenal but his best defense seems to be his offense. Something Chuck should thrive on.

I still don't like the idea of Wand retiring. Look at rampage, he was basically destroyed by Wand twice, Shogun as well. It looked like he was through, and like he had taken too many beatings as well. Look at him now.

If Wand got a tune up, same thing might happen for him. Wands confidence and aggression seemed lacking. I really wonder how this fight will effect him if he wins it. I'm actually hoping he does, would make for a great showdown with Rampage.

Yeah but the diffrence is Rampage hasnt lost his fire.Wandy on the other hand turned very gunshy. Mentally i think his done with the sport and he knows it.All his fighting on these days is fumes and his own pride.

Everybody was saying the exact same things when Rampage "found god".
