And place him in any division, today, who would it be, and why?

I will start with the great Willie Pep, to see how he fairs with todays feathers.

Indeed. That was what got me thinking of this thread in the first place. A prime Tyson would be an incredible thing to have again, even knowing all his bullshit I would still love to have him in the division today.

A prime Roberto Duran to take on Ricky Hatton, Floyd Mayweather, Cotto, Judah, Mosley, Collazo, and knowing Duran, even De la Hoya, Taylor and Pavlik.

It'd be grand. Would have been even better about six or seven years ago, then he could have started with the ligter weights.

prime tyson isn't really interesting, because he lacks opposition. oh wow, he's wlad's nightmare stylewise and all other boxers today aren't on his level, this is fun!! bullshit.

i want monzon or robinson.

Ray Robinson at Welter weight just to figth Floyd Mayweather and the weltweight divison s great at the mo

id like Joe Louis at heavyweight to show um whos boss as well

joe the great
07-02-2007, 01:28 PM
Only one? Maybe Jack Johnson. I would want to see how these heavyweights today would deal with this defensive wizard.

Shake
07-02-2007, 01:28 PM
Rocky Marciano 'cause I would want to see if he really was invincible or that was really the lack of opponent!

I can tell you that right now. Rocky Marciano was smaller than Frazier, and remarkably, there were almost no opponents considerably taller than he, nor black ones.

Now imagine what Liston would have done with him

Bringing back a prime Tyson is impossible because as soon as he lost his first fight to a decent heavyweight everyone would claim he wasn't prime.

With or without the "mysterious, other" bottle?....lol

Heh, doesn't matter, Pryor KOed Arguello in the 10th in a rematch W/O the "bottle". Now, if he wasn't able too...the suspection would have been alot higher. Tho, I honestly believe there was something in the bottle because a few years proved Pryor had a cocain addiction. Ok, yeah, I keep contraciting myself. Pryor = Guilty? yes (I hate to admit that with one of my all time favs)

SRR, so PBF could give him a boxing lesson.

ROFLMAO!!!!

I would bring back Sugar Ray Robinson the greatest P4P fighter to ever live....so he could absolutely destroy Mayweather. If you think the light punching Mayweather could handle Ray Robinson you are out of your freaking mind.

PBF is too quick for SSR, and he'd expose SSR's shaky chin in the 9th.

Are you being sarcastic? Because if you are, good joke...if you are serious, may God have mercy on your soul.

:D :good

Side note, today I learned that SSR killed a man in the ring. That's pretty fucking insane

Yeah, he killed Jimmy Doyle. The police investigated Robinson and asked him when he knew he had Doyle in trouble, and he replied "when he signed the contract."

Would have loved to seen what could have been with Stanley Ketchel and Salvador Sanchez who's career's ended by death outside the ring at 24 and 23 respectively.

If I must?? SRR at 47 so he could beat floyds little ass.:good

I remember this thread! :good

Iron Mike
Salvador Sanchez
Bob Foster
Rocky Marciano
Terry Norris
Hagler

Its hard to only pick one. It would be nice seeing Iron Mike chop down the heavys like trees and interesting to see Marciano up against young, not past their prime, modern day heavys.

I say either Salvador Sanchez or Terry Norris. Norris would have exciting fights with a number of talent from 147-54. But I think Sanchez deserves to be brought back because his life was cut short and a Pacman fight would be awesome.

To fight anyone from welter to middle that's currently around.

Well, I guess I'm just too young to see his great fights so I would love to see him fighting again and assess whether he really deserves to be on top of that so called 'All Time GReats'. :good

Sugar Ray Robinson. I would just have to see him in against all of the guys from 147 to 168. I want to know how the greatest of all time stacks up against the modern fighters of today. SRR was really a pioneer in combination punching.
