Floyd Mayweather: “The best pound-for-pound in boxing ([Only registered and activated users can see links]***********.com/?m=show&id=11545#) today, maybe ever. He dominates and is definitely the smartest boxer.”
Ricky Hatton: “Workmanlike but a little overrated. He’s not great but is a good fighter who is tough and a worker. He’s overrated in that some believe he’s the best.”
Miguel Cotto: “One of the best pound-for-pound fighters in the world today -- very powerful, strong, hungry and determined.”
Julio Cesar Chavez, Jr.: “I didn’t see his last fight but he surprised me by beating (Ray) Sanchez, who I know from the amateurs. Chavez came back from being down on two cards to stop Sanchez. Maybe, he has gotten a little better.”
Herman Ngoudjo: “Another workmanlike fighter but not the same as Gavin Rees because he doesn’t throw as many punches. What you see is what you get with him. He’s a former Olympian and I expect him to come into our fight at 100-percent. He’s never been given anything and has come up the hard way. I’m looking forward to fighting him.”
Junior Witter: “Probably the most dangerous, underrated, unappreciated fighter in boxing. I’d love to meet him in the ring but that’s up to the networks. Witter is definitely the best light welterweight in England.”
Demetrious Hopkins: “Good family ([Only registered and activated users can see links]***********.com/?m=show&id=11545#) pedigree and a solid fighter. He’ll lose his first pro fight in 2008 when he meets Paulie Malignaggi.”
Lovemore N’dou: “The biggest clown in boxing today. He’s like Barnum & Bailey, you see the same show. His recent words and actions make him look even more stupid to the media and fans.”
Gavin Rees: “I’ve watched some clips of his fights and he seems like a rugged fighter who throws a lot of punches. Another workmanlike fighter, but he won’t last too long as a title holder.”
Ricardo Torres: “A strong fighter who can’t fight a lick.”
Timothy Bradley: “I know him from the amateurs. He’s a darkhorse junior welterweight right now and he’ll eventually become a contender in this division.”
Jose Luis Castillo: “Past his prime; a legend in his day.”
Vivian Harris: “Another underappreciated fighter who has been mismanaged. It’s a shame that his loss to Witter has hurt his career so much. It shouldn’t have.”
Kendall Holt: “A solid fighter who could become world champion. He’s had a couple of bad breaks. It’s all up to him. He has all of the physical tools but, mentally, he has to overcome negativity and setbacks. If he can overcome that he can be world champion.”
I think Paulie has some interesting take on these fighters. The one that really caught my eye, was his comment on Witter. I think he's dead on here. Witter would be trouble for anyone in that division.I would love to see him get an opportunity against Paulie or Hatton.

It's refreshing to see an honest assessment from a boxer instead of "I'm the best, they are all beneath me" type garbage.

I definitely agree with Paulie on Witter. Witter is perhaps the most underrated fighter in boxing. I'd make a fight with Hatton 50/50.

good assessment and great see he is smart enough to realise Witter is better than Hatton.

Hatton would eat witter. Lets see how long witter would have lasted with Koysta and castillo. U just don't like hatton.

Man, Paulie has come a long way from his days of bagging on fighters. (Mike Arnaoutis comes to mind)
He seems to have matured a ton, and I appreciate his straight-up honest opinion on these fighters.
He earned boatloads of my respect after the Cotto fight, and I can honestly say I'm becoming a small fan of his.
I also think he'd be a decent commentator on HBO, if given the chance.

Your right. He's very biased against Hatton.
But Witter is better than Hatton imo!

witter is better than collazo, and lets not forget hatton struggles with slick southpaws.

They call hatton overrated but so his witter. I mean I would like to see them both fight and watch hatton knock him out. I say this because they have a go at hattons record but witters is just as bad also witter fought a man who ducked hatton for maussa. How after one performance which was good no doubting that because I was there and he leathered but to proclaim him the best lightwelterweight his wrong.

I am not saying that all I am saying that i BELIEVE Hatton will beat him. Also people call hatton style of fighting trying to watch witter imitate naz with his unauthordox style is boring. So Relentless who do u think is the best LWW.
Paulie can take more than what he dishes out thats for sure. He cant crack an egg but he took his beating from Cotto like a man.

I think he would go twleve rounds with hatton but like with cotto i don't think his punches will have the effect on hatton, and hatton would win by UD. That is my opinion.

i wonder if hatton can break paulies jaw with one of his looping hooks
"aaaagggghhh" "aaaaaaaaagggggh" -and thats only hattons jabs

Its his biggest failing. He's so vulnerable to a counter right hook from southpaw stance it makes me wonder if Floyd will use that tactic.:D
Not saying Hatton would definately loose but he'd be the underdog in my eyes against Witter.
However I doubt the fight will ever happen so its a moot point.

yeah and Ricardo beat Forrest, who beat Shane, who beat Oscar, but Oscar still beat the shit out of Ricardo right?

True, but Paulie is a tough nut to crack I seriously doubt if he is going to not see the 12th if ever they do fight.

What makes you sa that? :huh Paulie has a very good chin and loads of heart, he was able to take Cotto's hardest hooks and most brutal bodypunches for 12 rounds.
i think technically Paulie's a phenom, but styles make fights as they say and I see Ricky swarming and bullying Paulie into submission. Cotto's not as good as Ricky when it comes to cutting off the ring...

Hatton is great at cutting off the ring due to his good footspeed which is greatly underrated. He can close the distance and get inside a guys chest within seconds.
I dunno though, to each his own because to me, Hatton doesn't have the same power that Cotto used to overpower Malignaggi..
It's a fight I'd like to see...:bbb
