I think that Hall would make light work of a guy like Mason. In Mason's words "Barry Hall - are you serious? He'd punch the piss out of me!"
Punching someone on the footy field is nothing like squaring up against someone in the ring. Most fights on the footy field are the result of spontaneity or a rush of blood. But getting yourself mentally prepared to step into the ring for a scheduled fight against an opponent that wants to destroy you for the sake of sport is not the easiest thing to get your head around. The adrenalin and the nerves are on overload.
I hope that Hall pursues a boxing career after the Swans, I think that he'd get plenty of support in Australia and he's at least got a history with the sport. He's got plenty of mongrel in him and to see him unleash that in the ring would be a treat.

Despite being a leaguie, I'd be cheering for Hall also.
Willie is a cunt and atm is the most deserving guy in league to get KTFO.
Unfortunately Willie seems to have postphoned his boxing ambitions for at least 12 months.

Hall is a natural athlete, has previous boxing ability, has kept up with boxing training over the years and is better conditioned for the ring

My mail was that the reason Willy has postponed any boxing plans is because his gym form was no where near what was required for a pro fight.
That's not a knock on the guy...I mean, he had a very limited time frame to prepare and with no boxing background he set himself a hard task but atleast he realised he just wasn't ready.
Apparently he was no match for his brother Les and was timid inside the ring.
His handlers were stuck finding someone at his level.

Sounds about right - reality check for Mason. In his own words he shit himself when the Hall fight was mentioned to him. I've had the misfortune of watching a Les Mason bout and it was appauling, totally laughable in terms of technical ability, just messy overhand punches - RSL carpark style.

Barry Hall needs to retire ASAP and pursue a boxing career.
