...would you least like to get into a streetfight with?

Firstly, I think some of the 'joke' (Giants) MMA fighters would actually be the toughest and most intimidating in a real situation; Hong Man Choi or even Bob Sapp would probably just crush anyone in a street-fight. But I do reckon I could grab a single-leg take down on Choi or Schilt or one of the 7ft-ers and even things up a bit.

So, I think I'd say Mark Hunt - granite head, 270lbs freakish strength and could knock anyone out with either hand - also with his squat build it's more difficult to rush and take him down; an inexperienced Hunt has given some seasoned MMA fighters (including Fedor) hell. SO yeah, I think Mark Hunt would be a total badass on 'the street', what do you guys think?

I'd go with Alex. Em.

Also, Mark Hunt was manhandled by Fedor. What you referring to as "hell" was 270lb lard laying on top of Fedor.

Mark Coleman, because if nobody was around to pull him off of you... he may never get off of you. He was a bouncer for a while, up in Columbus, and was an absolute beast. Some morons approached him in a bar one night, and was getting mouthy with him, trying to ruffle his feathers... then one of them spilled a beer on him.. they broke off running for their car, he had to get out from around this round, end table that he was seated at.... ran outside, AND FLIPPED THEIR CAR OVER ONTO IT'S SIDE WITH THE TWO MEN IN IT! He was not a bouncer at that point the way, that was shortly after he entered the UFC for the first time. That story came straight from the Manager of the Night Club to me. The car was only a GEO Prizm... but how fuckin' crazy would that be?

I have trained with Coleman, but that doesn't mean anything. I have trained with several people. I am telling you that when this man flips his switch... you're fucked. He is an extremely nice guy, but very intense. You would be amazed at how strong this fucker was back in his day.

I also think that you are over exaggerating how hard it is to tip a small car, especially for someone like Coleman. Have you ever seen strongman competitions? They regularly flip cars over, that are heavier than a little Geo.

There would be no reason for the bar manager to lie to me, as Coleman himself never told me this, as a way to pump himself up.

Have you ever seen Coleman when he was in a full on rage? You don't want to be on the other end of that.... trust me.

Say what you will about his primitive skills but he is a HUGE guy and its not fat, its all muscle roided up to the max. Unless you have Crocop like power (where you'd need to be a pretty big dude yourself) he would be a fucking handful for anyone by pure size.

So you can 'manhandle' someone from the bottom?:think

This is Sambo not jiu jitsu - and the street isn't Sambo.. anywaaay, I think we can agree that if arguably the worlds best combat grappler couldn't get the dominant position with Hunt, you or me couldn't

Widow,

I can see where you're coming from with Coleman, size and bear-like strength, but I don't think his style of fighting is actually as effective in a real situation as you'de think - that wrestlers base close in up to your opponents face is fucking dangerous - your face can be bitten, your eyes scrtached etc. (btw this is one of the reasons I think Sambo is the most 'real' grappling art).

Guys who can knock you the fuck out , and be too strong to be thrown around are the baddest on the street imo

:rofl:rofl:rofl:-( Yeah thats fucked up like, I know hes a big fan of Michael Jackson so when I first heard him speak I thought that maybe he was trying to do an impression of him as a joke (gods honest truth) :rofl to endear him to American fans, then he kept talking and talking and then it dawned on me..........................."oh"......... What are you talking about? Sambo is not jiu jitsu? No, its not even brazilian jiu-jitsu even though it has similar techniques. You haven't even watched the fight have you? How to you call the part where Fedor put an arm bar on Hunt and was nice enough not to yank it to break it? How do you call a position where he wasn't nice and did yank his arm in kimura? Those are called dominant positions.

The single part where you're talking about "hell" was quite amateure technique which Fedor had NO problem getting away from.

Im not even trying to put Fedor on a pedestal here but thats how it was happening.

A couple things....

1. Biting Coleman's face would be the last reaction that you would have, when as he was mauling you. Also, you aren't in a "I'm going to bite him" type situation. You are... where he puts you.

2. Coleman could knock just about every normal guy out there the fuck out. He hits hard has hell. Don't be fooled, just because he isn't stupid enough to stand with strikers in a professional MMA bout, that he doesn't know how to throw a punch. I have seen him train with his hands before, and he hits like a ton of bricks.

3. Guys who's main practice is standing up is great... if they strike first, and land the right way. It isn't so great in most street fights, because you aren't going to have someone standing there trying to box with you. Most fight end up with guys getting tangled together, and that is where a great grappler is simply going to manhandle his opponent. It is 100 times easier to grab ahold of someone, than it is for that other person to land a perfect punch to end the fight.

Also... for the record.... It isn't as scary fighting a guy who is going to stoke you out with one shot. You aren't going to see it coming, and you aren't going to feel it when it hits you. However, the thought of fighting a guy who is going to brutally smash you to the ground, and maul the shit out of you, including repeated cinder block headbutts to your lips, nose, and eyes.... is a much more fear inducing experience.

Widow Maker,

I see your point...being KO'd is quite instantaneous and less...cumulatively painful, but in my experience a streetfight is not usually like an MMA bout but on the street...ie something uncontrollable will happen

Losing an eye wouldn't be a pleasant experience:D

Combat Sambo emphasises a lot of leglocks for this reason - you're just in less danger when applying them.

Wheres your head when doing a leglock? Now, wheres his foot?

But its less dangerous that having someones hands in your face, when they can do literally anything they want, surely?

And SAmbo is for real Combat remember, not for MMA scenarios where your opponent has good knowledge of leg lock defense.. bit of a tangent, but hey

You're missing the point why leglocks are stressed in Sambo, its not because they are less dangerous, its because a guy can get up and run away with a broken arm, or if he wakes up from a ko or choke, he can't with a broken leg.

But seriosuly, this is what I've been told by an ex Russian army guy - I know its hard to get good Sambbo coaching or even information in the west, so I'm sure there's a strong possibility I'm wrong on that count.

But back to the original question: heres some outside of the normal group that appears when this is asked.

Robbie Lawler - when he goes into smash mode. I do not want him "haning on the rim" to my unsconsious body like he did to Trigg.

Hendo - you have no offensive options that will effect him.

Cyborg - Batshit crazy, like a Wandy up on meth for a week.

Lindland - Bit a dude during a wrestling match at the olympic trials, if he bites there, he'll bite anytime.

I'll take Mark Hunt or Dan Henderson.

Guy has lots of tatoos and can mad dog.. So fucking what.

What scares the fuck out of me is knowing I could land my best non groin strike and will likely break my hand, and they won't even know they were ever hit lol. Guys have some serious chins.

Then, they would either knock me out with a flying samoan knee, then pancake me.. Or, throw a lethal right cross, then turn me into a pretzle.

I'd say Mark Hunt..
I don't know why but that's the first name i thought about...

He's fat...he doesn't look athletic at all...but there's something very scary about a guy who's quasi impossible to KO and who keeps coming at ya like a machine...he's fat...but fucking endurant...he's just too weird...lol and he's strong as hell too...he's not necesarilly the most powerful puncher , but from what i've seen in his mma fights....he knows how to use his weight and he outpowers most of his opponents...
