Make a Case For The Fighter You See Losing in Mayweather vs. Hatton

If your picking one or the other, and end up being very wrong at the end of Saturday night, what are some reasons you could attribute it to?

Hatton has more handspeed and footspeed than people give him credit for. If I have somehow underestimated his timing, then he could hit PBF far more than I think he will and win by decision, mirroring Castillo's effort against PBF with a different outcome.

depends how the fight goes - ive decided to back hatton but if he looses it will most likey be Floyds superior boxing skills....

Ricky will jab his way inside and use feints as well as different angles. His footspeed will allow him to close the distance quicker than Castillo and he is more dynamic on the inside. Hatton will rough Floyd up in close quarters because of his greater physical strength and will tire/open Floyd up with his grappling. Hatton's deceptive hand speed will lead to some nice shots both upstairs and downstairs. As he attacks Mayweather and forces him back, he will make an impression with the judges because of his workrate while Mayweather sits back, choses his shots, and lands some counter punches, but doesn't look busy enough.

That brings up a good point. With him having been the come forward aggresor in many of his fights that I have seen, I'm not sure how good his timing is against a fighter with quick, sharp shots like Mayweather.

Maybe someone who has seen lots of Hatton fights could help me out here.

Thats a better arguement for Hatton than even the Hatton fans make. Well done.

If Hatton wins I more than likely underestimated his speed and footwork. I also didn't take heart into account, which I do think he has more of than Mayweather. Perhaps I could say I underestimated his corner too (which I personally would give a grade of C- to right now)

I did forget to mention that if Hatton wins I would more than likely say that the judges gave it to him for being more active, pressuring, and making a fight out of it. I could see that happening....but on the flip side PBF will know if he is behind and turn it up in the later rounds

I pick Mayweather to win, but if Hatton pulls it off, I think it will be by a stoppage, not a knockout and that it could be in the early or middle rounds. Simple one great flurry, with all of his punches connecting.

I guess if Hatton is able to cut off the ring, applying relentless pressure and turning this into a ugly grueling affair, he might have a chance.... If Floyd is not as active in the first half of the fight, and realizes that he might be down on points, gets into a slugging match, there is a chance that he might get caught with one of those famous body shots of Hatton.

I've seen some of his earlier fights and he does have a good jab when he uses it. It makes it easier for him to effectively get inside while taking less punishment.

He has resorted to leading with left hooks and right hands, but perhaps he is smart enough and his team knew he needs to work behind a hard, double jab to get in close where he can do his best work.

I, for one, don't expect him to do this

I'm picking PBF to win by a decission based on technical skills and ability to change fight plan in the middle of any fight and adjust to the opponent. If he loses then I underestimated Hatton's capabilities. If Hatton loses . . . it's expected.
