Although this isn't as big of a fight, is Hatton a much more live underdog than DLH was? He's not past his prime, he's got the perfect natural style (educated rough 'n phonebooth type pressure) to cause Mayweather fits if he does it right, and he's in great shape, with small chance of fading in the later rounds like DLH. What do we think?

No not at all. Delahoya was much bigger then Mayweather and much stronger. Plus Delahoya is a great technical boxer unlike Hatton. Not to mention he has a great chin. Hatton is in for an ass kicking. His only hope for the fight going the distance is to punch then grab Mayweather like he does in all of his fights. Hopefully Cortez doesn't allow those illegal tactics
hell yeah he has a better chance than DLH, Oscar wins that fight if he doesn't fade late, and Hatton WILL NOT fade late.

After the 11th round, Kostya wnet over to Hatton and said 'I had a number of ideas on how to win this fight, and you beat me on every single one of them'.
Personally, I tihnk Hatton will relentlessly attack Mayweather - if he runs, Hatton will be chasing him across the ring. De La Hoya was too casual, too easy for Floyd's game. Hatton will be a lot more intense - and the punches will be harder as well, especially the body shots.

I haven't seen many of Hatton's fights, so could any of you Hatton fans tell me how good he is at cutting the ring off? That's obviously going to be an invaluable tool tomorrow night seeing as Mayweather is a movement based fighter.

i think ricky stands a better chance. oscar could have won the fight if he applied pressure for 12 rounds which he is no longer able to do but ricky can and does. he needs to throw constantly even if he is getting countered because floyd wilts somewhat under constant pressure. if he ever lets up, floyd will get confident that the attack will not be constant and he will find courage to ride out the storm. if ricky keeps at it and he is somewhat successful then floyd will be affected mentally knowing he has to endure 12 rounds of mauling. if he is not successful then ricky is in for a long fight and floyd will prove why he is considered #1.

I think by the third round Hatton is going to be a bloody mess. I dont see Hatton making it through 6 or 7 rounds without getting stopped on cuts.

No, Hatton will not do better than Oscar. Oscar was WAY BIGGER. Oscar is 3 inches taller and over a dozen pounds larger on fight night. Hatton is shorter and smaller than Mayweather, not even close.

A speedy little fucker who is relenless and bores in could bother PBF. Hatton is a master at the clutch and hit. He cant let Mayweather get any space or he will get his ass beat. Can Hatton bore in and cut off the ring without getting sliced to ribbons. How much distance can Mayweather create, To beat PBF Hatton has to fight like Joe Frazier did Ali in their 1st fight or Duran leanord 1. Those two. I belive Hatton can hustle like Joe but doesnt have the overall talent of a Duran. I believe he has a better shot than DLH because of age and Hatton COULD RISE TO THE OCCASION.

I think hatton will get out boxed and will do dtupid thing at the start of the fight and mite lost some points.
Hatton will look like he's doing better than DLH because of his aggressive style, but in reality he won't be landing anything...PBF UD(or SD if the judges by into all the shots Hatton will land on PBF's shoulders and gloves)

Think Hatton has a better chance. IMO the dlh fight was not nearly as close as the cards suggested.
DLH stood off of mayweather with a confused look on his face for most of the fight. Hatton wont (though he still may end up with the confused look on his face)

No Oscar was bigger, stronger, hit harder and better. Oscar has a good jab good reach and power not to mention much better defesne and boxing ability. Hatton will not cause PBF more problems that Oscar did. The only thing he has over Oscar is stamina.

Will Hatton do better than De La Hoya?
Of course . . . Hatton is young and at his peak, more athletic than the De La Hoya who fought PBF.
Hatton will bring in twice as much pressure and competition than what DLH brought in their fight . . . but still . . . I believe PBF wins this one.

Hatton will cause more problems for Floyd. He is in his prime, brings more pressure that De La Hoya and hasn't tasted defeat yet. That will make him do everything possible not to get his first defeat.

Id say no. I think he will do about the same as Oscar.

Absolutely not. Oscar is technically superior boxer, harder hitting, better defence, and naturally bigger giving him a natural arsenal to apply pressure far better than Ricky could ever have. The only metric in which hatton beats DLH is stamina, but Mayweather beat DLH before he faded anyway. Watch round five. Hatton is a punching bag compared to DLH and with no defence or stiff jap, he will have nothing to protect him coming forward. Hatton will be knocked out in 5 or less.

Seeing as how DLH went the full 12, no, Hatton will not do better at all.:yep

Nope, sorry. I am rooting for Hatton big time, but, PBF is too damn good. he is a defensive genius, covers his body very well, and slips punches like no other today.
PBF is going to frustrate Hatton too much and just nail him with straight rights all night.
Go Hatton though!

Hatton isn't more live than Oscar. De la Hoya was a legit 155-160 pounder. He's much taller than Hatton with much better power. Hatton runs into a hornets nest in this fight. Sorry Hatton fans. I like the Mancunian a great deal but picks must be done with the head and not the heart. Mayweather wins inside the distance. :smoke:smoke

Castillo did better than dlh did..people forget this.why? because DLH is not prime and he's a PART TIME FIGHTER for crying out loud.
Hurrican Hatton doesn't stop coming at you and that is the difference between him and Oscar. He won't stop coming at Floyd rabbit and Floyd will do his usual punch and run strategy.
Oscar has been dropping in on Hatton, giving him tips on how to beat Mayweather.
who won that fight again?
The rabbit and barely:huh
If Oscar had kept up the pressure he would have won, no doubt about it. Hatton won't stop applying pressure. You watch. You guys are really underestimating a great and intelligent boxer who can also brawl with the best of them.
