23 year old US super heavy champ turns pro.
A fast boxer but unfortunately not too big (215 lbs).

He started in 03 and won the US nationals in 06, the US amateur scene must be weak.

WTF, he's turning pro? I thought he was going to the Olympic trials. And yeah, US Super Heavies these days aren't a lot to get excited over half the time.

Probably money. If things keep going the way they are the search for a great american hope will become bigger than the search for the great white hope. It seems to me any big american who steps in a ring is hyped as the next big thing.

Hey, what you need these days is a great black hope. At least in the hw division.

Lawerance Clay-Bey, Jason Estrada , Travis Kauffman were also stellar US level amatuers! I will wait and see what he can do as a pro first.

The best US super heavy is Mike Wilson, he has around 100 bouts but lost a close one to teenager Michael Hunter in the 07 finals. He may be scared of these two and say hey, what the heck.
