View Full Version : MAB vs Pac. A rematch we don't need
Can anyone out there seriously see this fight going any other way then the first? Seriously, MAB is too old to brawl with the younger Pac, and is too slow to out box him. Once again he will have no option except to try to delay the inevitable for as long as possible. I would much prefer to see a great rematch in JMM vs Pac then this. I don't know why these guys never soughted it out in the ring again anyway after the contraversy of the first fight.

After about the first 4 rounds of this fight its going to be all Manny with knockout in possibly the 7th or 8th round

I blame him as a fan, because I want to see him further his legacy while he still can. He is in the prime of his career he should be looking to fight the best. Not saying MAB isn't good, its just the fact that he has already beaten him convincingly, what more could this fight possibly prove.

he lost to EM the first time man, that's just a few years back. i agree thought with the fact that mab does not deserve another crack at pacman because he lost clearly the first time. i don't think mab will last as far as the last fight.
i think if jmm wasn't scheduled to fight barrios, it could have been him facing pac in october.

Co-sign. An utter waste of time. Morales, Barrera and Pac fighting eachother got old a while ago.
Just move along , move along... argh.

It's one final chance for Marco, and a fight I can't see him winning right now.
I want to see Manny in there with Marquez the most, followed by Soto, then Guzman and Valero.

It should be a good scrap while it lasts, but I like Pac by KO.

We don't need it. But the Promoters need it for the money. Be Patient this fight will just be the beginning, now that TR and GBP have patched things up PAC vs JMM, SOTO, GUZMAN, VALERO is definitely possible... if after 2 years PAC did not fight anyone of them then he wont be able to prove that, especially to the haters, he only fights over the hill fighters, that he should've lost to JMM, that hes scared of Guzman etc... but now lets just sit back and watch as he will prove to us that he really did beat Barrera and the forest fires, metal plate other problems in his camp really did not matter.
Never count MAB out and this fight is anything but pointless. This is a good fight and a chance for MAB to get another chance against Pacquiao. MAB might have lost his last fight but it was also close and brutal, so expect him to do the same against Pacquiao even if he's losing.
Don't wanna see this fight to be honest. MAB is past it. A JMM rematch is much better.

But JMM and Pac are VERY different fighters. MAB has shown that he doesn't have any answer to the speed, power or work rate of PAC. Because MAB is for the most part a counter puncher, it is very hard to be effective against someone who is quicker then you. Why not match up MAB agaisnt Soto? That would be a great chance for him to solidify his position as an ATG?

Pacquaio should be fighting Juan Manuel Marquez.
Edit: On the other hand, if I was Barrera I would badly want this rematch.

its a rematch we are getting because bitch ass crybaby Mab is saying Pacquiao or retire, and GBP wants to make as much money from Mab's name as possible before he does.
but whats good about the rematch is that top rank and gbp are getting along now.

MAB has wanted this rematch for years and he deserves it. We know it will be a great fight, no matter how long it lasts. And I still believe MAB is dangerous.

Don't think MAB his self would want that instead of getting another chance against a fighter that destroyed him already. I do agree with you though but I'm sure that MAB would rather have a chance to beat someone that already KO'd him and his long-time rival Morales than fight Soto or anyone else, a fight with Pac WILL motivate MAB to train 100% and be 100% mentally/physically in there, I don't expect a fight with Soto to mean anything for MAB at this point.
Don't under estimate Mab. Pac is probably the only fighter at 130 today that would come as a favorite against Mab.

lose to JMM and you get a rematch with Pac. Love how boxing works.
If I'm JMM i'm feelin' like a 3rd wheel
JMM isn't that much popular yet compared to Pac, Mab and EM. A Mab-EM 4 would draw more money than a JMM-Mab 2 IMO

not as much, true. but you said pacman ONLY.

Okay, but a Mab-JMM rematch is still 50-50 IMO and I think that there will still be more people favoring Mab than JMM. Only boxing enthusiasts knows how good JMM is

i can respect that, but in my opinion, only pac and guzman can beat jmm.
who do you suggest guzman should fight now that he's left in the cold? i'm thinking soto man! that would be nice

I'd love to see Guzman against Soto but I doubt it if Arum nor GBP would take the risk. Both of them are just waiting for a big fight with either Pac or JMM

yeah. that's true. they'll probably be given lighlty regarded opposition in their next fights. and pac will face jmm if he beats mab, so they'll wait a long time. if guzman-soto can't happen, i'd like one of them to travel to japan and take on valero. actually, any match between the three could be really nice

I agree MAB stands very little chance but its funny, JMM took a VERY close decision against MAB, yet MAB stands no chance and JMM would beat Pac according to some? Styles makes fights sure but JMM is not that much better a boxer than MAB...

i wouldn't call it alliance. uncle bob would stab gbp's back at the very first chance he got. and vice versa

it's more of a "marriage" of convenience between the two... however, it is also very practical money-wise for them to match-up pac w/ jmm, et al. after the mab fight. money is still their common interest.

MAB and Pac has to end this issue between them now. Manny Pacquiao knows he can beat Barrera easily, not only for the big bucks he'll get but also to prove the first one ain't fluke. Same reason with Marco who just want to get even with Pac, he knows this fight could be his last hurrah in this sport but who knows he might do everything to win, it would be a classic if he does prevail over Pac.
JMM-Pac could wait, they still have time to get each other. I might agree from some that both are in a different level or event to wait in superfeatherweight boxing. They could do it after they face Barrios and Barrera, I'm also sure this could be one hell of a fight to wait.
