Do not get me wrong, I am a big fan of Ricky Hatton and despite my head telling me Pretty Boy was going to win I even wedged a bet on him to win by TKO. As a person he is witty and charismatic, has a great following and is entertaining but watching him (especially last night) I cannot help but cringe at his defensive ability.

He fails to cover up and takes far more punches than he really should which ultimately must do damage.

Now I gave him credit for his effort and determination but I fail to see how he could be even up their fighting for what could be deemed as the title of the best pound for pound boxer in the world when in actual fact he is more a brawler.

Suffice to say I feel Joe Calzaghe is head and shoulders above anyone else in Britain and hopefully this exposure in recent week leads to more media coverage for Joe in 2008. (Just a shame he is not on Sky)

I agree.

Hatton was made to look one dimensional and not very good in his fight with Mayweather. He was almost stopped by Collazo, who was easily outboxed by Mosley, who's just been beaten by Cotto. That puts it all in perspective for me. It's probably why I'm not nearly as impressed with Mayweather as everyone else, he didn't look great against De La Hoya, Hatton did him alsorts of favours last night. Still, props to Mayweather.

To clarify, I predicted a Mayweather UD.
