Is this the "New & Improved" Golota Express? Thats a shame the old one had to go. Nothing lasts forever...

This Sept. 15th date. Is that offical, set in stone? Or could it change? Both Golota & Adamek on this date, with Adamek vs Cunningham & Golota vs TBA.

Here we go again.

king is looking for someone who wants fight golota in poland... someone from top 15...

I hope Golota don't bite off too much, too soon. A top 15 opponent had better be a lowest tier top 15, at least until Golota gets more rust blown out of the pipes.

TOS would be a decent choice, but I think Golota needs to fight just one more C level opponent before stepping up to the better fighters.

And TOS is desperate to get a name fight, from what I've read.

He should fight someone like Vinnie Maddelone, next ,then someone like TOS.

Too much of a step up, too soon, will blow this whole effort to get Golota back in contention for another world title.

The Golota Express has been so busy lately, I think having 2 or even 3 might be in order. Hell, we should have no less than FIVE! GX-1, Gx-2, GX-3, GX-4, GX-5. Then we will need a few mini sub-trains rolling as well. This will create even MORE Golota threads and posts. Before you know it ESB will become submerged with Golota madness. The Golota army will begin to multiply at an alarming rate as more and more recruits will join the Golota faithful. ESB will eventually be bought out by The Golota Express. All who resist the take over will be ostracized to shitty boxing websites like Boxing Addicts.

I just watched Tyson-Golota yesterday. I forgot how badly Golota sucked, and what a mental trainwreck he was. I still felt sorry for him when he began getting pelted by the crowd though, he got nailed by something that looked like a big container of ketchup.

It was rough. I was watching it on Amy's TV (it's her DVD) and I said she had to see this as he was walking out of the ring. Then boom! Yeah, I was hoping for that too. Looks like Golota is not exactly following the Foreman blueprint, but September will have to do. Let's just hope September doesn't get pushed back to October like it's been for the last 2 years. We have no time for that nonesense.

Rums, what do you think about Golota's weight? Should he most definitely try to come back down to his standard 238? I think he's too slow at 249 that's for sure and even when he got smoked by Brewster he was 248 in that fight. What is your opinion? At age 39 can he still do it? Should he even try, or would he risk over training?

I guess I'm alone in hoping that Golota dont' take on too much, too soon. A few more months, and an extra tomato can or two won't make that much of a difference, and it can mean being successful in this last run, and not.

I was not overly impressed by the Bates fight, and I think Golota has alot of room to improve upon that.

But its being said that King has his Golota plans already made, so I guess Golota will have to work out his bugs in the gym, and that being the case, I only hope that he can improve enough through training to deal with the increase in competition level as it is thrown at him. I think someone like TOS would possibly outbox Golota as he is, right now, and a loss would certianly derail this entire plight.

But I may be wrong.....We'll see, though.

Go Golota!

Ya know, I was watching the first Bowe-Golota fight the other day, and man was this sadly a vivid reminder of how much Golota is now only a mere shell of his once superior former self.

[Only registered and activated users can see links]

This version of Golota died that night he had the car wreck in 1999. Look how magnificant that left hand of his was. The jab and left hook were so awesome and natural to him, NO other fighter could have competed. Straight, powerful right hands, awesome foot and head movement. Golota hasnt been the Golota we all fell in love with for nearly 8 years. As much as we hope he can one day revive the old days, it's never gonna happen. Now we only see glimpses and spots of how great he used to box. For the most part, he's just a much slower, big strong guy with some decent remaining skills, slaps with the left hook, paws with the jab and throws wide punches. He still has plenty of power and natural brute strength, but there's not much left.

This is the REALITY of it.

That said, I think he just might still have enough basic skills and power to become champ in today's wide open division. Maybe he'll get Bloodworth back and surprise us a bit in his next fight. Let's all just hope for the best.

I don't think Golota needs to fight someone as good as TOS or Barrett next, but definitely better than Bates...I think someone like Chauncey Welliver would be a perfect opponent. And then have Golota step up and fight an eliminator type of fight in December.

i believe king is planning a faster move for golota. they are thinking about big fight card in chicago with adamek and golota as a main attractions. possible unification adamek - mormeck and title fight for golota. that's just speculations at this point but...

I think that September is too soon for a big fight. Golota has still been off a long time, and only has had two rounds of action in his comeback. He needs to drop some weight, and crush one more tomato can to get sharper before a big fight. He needs someone that is going to push him at least 7 or 8 rounds.

joecool
06-20-2007, 11:20 AM
It's not Golota demanding big money, all his potential opponents wants big money for fighting Golota. They want $200K or more. For god sake for tittle shots you can't get that now if you are not a big star.

that's true. he needs some rounds and couple of easier fights, however if you remember last comeback, after first bout golota got byrd and shot for ibf title and he did extremaly well winning the battle in excellent fight...

He is well experienced boxer, at this level he only need to get
better conditioning by remove 6-8 lb and he is ready to go.

He definitely needs clear startegy at the beginning of the fight,
either go crazy like Brewster or good survival approach with some
clinching and good jabbing.

Yeah, thanks JC for the updates. Keep 'em coming. When is Adamek vs Cunningham gonna be finalized? And thats a shame that these tomato cans want big $$$ to fight AG. But I guess anyone would, considering the heavy pounding you'd take in there with Andrezj.

Golota was much younger then. He looked much more like himself in the 2 tune-ups before he got the Byrd fight. Against Bates, he really looked stiff at first, but in the 2nd round he loosened up & actually looked more aggressive than ever before. Thats something he must continue to do. Show no respect & just kick ass!

Gołota jeszcze w tym roku powalczy o mistrzostwo? 2007-06-20 10:44

I mieliśmy rację" - tłumaczył Rozalski.

I mieliśmy rację" - tłumaczył Rozalski.

"Jestem zadowolony z tego zwycięstwa, bo wiem, że Andrew ciężko trenował, wiem jak na nie zapracował. Najważniejsze, że znowu jest w formie" - mówi McGirt. Basically it says that he might get a future title shot v Chagaev WBA. It says Golota needs to go toe to toe with another opponent after the Bates fight (take that rust off) Hes fighting in Wroclaw in the summer or so....... and he might even get a title shot THIS year.

I think that September is too soon for a big fight. Golota has still been off a long time, and only has had two rounds of action in his comeback. He needs to drop some weight, and crush one more tomato can to get sharper before a big fight. He needs someone that is going to push him at least 7 or 8 rounds.

Fully agree.

They'd better play it safe and let Golota have one more tomato can, or at least, one C level opponent, before putting him in there with someone who can expose his ring rust and lack of full confidence.

Vinnie Maddelone is the level they need to be looking at, next. Then, if Golota does well and gets in some rounds and wins in grand fashion, then look into someone like TOS or Monte Barrett.

My point is, we've (they've) waited too long for this latest Golota campaign to blow it by being too impatient.

"When I came out, everyone got wild. Like crazy. I said to myself, Unbelievable. Another fight later, Adamek, the crowd was okay, but not like me."

Golota better watch his tongue or we're gonna have yet another Golota vs Dariusz Michalczewski situation on our hands.

:D

Thanks for the interview. Kinda short though. Wish he would have asked more about Golota's future plans. Golota said the jab felt good, but personally I didn't think the jab looked too good. Maybe it'll be better his next fight when he gets to use it more.

Golota fights again in July that would be awesome! That is just what he needs stay active and keep focused. It will also help him lose a few pounds. I would really prefer to see him fight at about ten pounds lighter.

I think that someone like Owen Beck would be a nice opponent for July. Decent record, decent fighter, not too dangerous, but will likely extend Golota 7 or 8 rounds...he needs a tomato can but someone better than Bates.

Golota already blew it with Grant. In order to ensured this doesn't happen again, put him in with a name fighter he can dominate without having to worry about getting caught, like Toney.

The Golota - Grant fight was for the shot at Lewis.
Its very likely that Golota was scared to face Lewis again so he just surrender that fight.

I still can't believe Golota didn't take china chin Grant out in the second when he still had him hurt.

Hopefully next time Golota will finish the FUCKING job. Although finishing his opponent after hurting them in big fights has never been one of his strong points.

We all would like to see golota avenge a loss or two. This is what champions do. They beat the person that that beat them. Grant would be perfect right now. His chin is even worse and his spirit is completely broken. Golotas spirit is still in question but he got over the first hurdle. One more quick tune-up in july then face grant in september on a televised undercard. It would bring massive interest to that card.

Golota can beat grant within 6 rounds maybe sooner. Can you imagine how he would feel if he did that? That would respark the polish assasin and he would be better then ever!!!!

it was one of the questions people asked golota after the fight and he never answered. he was probably intimidated by lewis at that time and that's the reason he found the way not to win grant's fight. golota could finished him off in round one or two, however decided to let him go:huh

I really do not think Golota thinks that far ahead. He seems to live for the moment, more or less. I just think Golota has always been a crappy finisher when he has his opponent hurt. He hurt Bowe early and couldnt finish. Same with Ruiz.

Hoax976
06-25-2007, 02:40 PM
it was in his first 28 fights ( 25 ko's ):deal

Golota was a much more aggressive fighter back then. His first step up was against Pouha. And even against Pouha, he hurt him early in the fight, didn't finish him, then ended up getting hurt himself. Then he bit Pouha before finally getting him out of there. He also stopped Nicholson but these guys were not quite in the same league as a prime Grant, Bowe Ruiz, he always had trouble finishing in BIG fights, such as title fights.

I'm hoping Golota's trainer (whoever that is) makes him more aggressive this time around. He seemed to be more aggressive against Bates, this is a good sign.

i believe golota needs to be more agressive from first seconds of the fight to establish his dominance in the ring and prevent the opponent early attacks. bates wasn't good enough test so we have to wait and see how golota will act in his next bout in july...

So lets bring Briggs, this will be true test, if Golota survive first round then the mission is accomplished.

That BULLSHIT!!! You should see how I'm pushing myself to get in shape this summer, sweating my balls off, getting stronger, & I'm 54 yrs old! Golota needs to go chop fucking wood for a few hours a day & shit like that to put his ass through hell. Then he'll be fuckin' ready for a title shot. Physical strength breads mental strength.

Rest, my ass. Get the fuck to work. Maybe he thinks he's putting out, breaking his ass during training. But maybe he's only fooling himself.

The military WON it. Militaries do not "steal". Read the constitution for a good description of the relationship of early Americans with the "Indians". A perfect analogy is the boxer vs. mma debate. It is obvious that a boxer should not bring a boxing fight plan to an MMA fight. Likewise, one shouldn't bring a tomahawk to a gunfight. If one disagrees strongly, then try living in a teepee. Eventually, an appreciation of victory will settle in.

If Golota was heading the calvary, things would have been different. But thank god for Don King because now all things are possible.

i had a native canadian living upstairs from me when i lived in an apartment. one day, i just went up there and moved in. i didnt ask him, i just did. but i was nice about taking over his apartment. i gave him a little corner about 5' X 5' to live in, and i didnt even charge him rent (mind you, he ownded the apartment). he was kinda cramped, what living with his wife and son in that corner, so i killed them so he could be more comfortable in his little corner.

Whats your opinion off bloodworth coming back JC?

I am still mift at bloodworth prior to the start of the second round of the grant fight. He said "This guy aint nuthin, basic boxing will beat this guy."

He should of said "GET HIM OUTTA HERE NOW!!!!!"

I like what colonga said in between rounds of the byrd fight "Andrew, remember...your doing this for your kids."

Im not sure JC will answer this but some of you are excited with bloodworth coming back. I would have to see what the blood could do at this stage of g mans carrer. I think sam is honest but not hardcore with his advice and that seems to get through to andrew. I do not care what the circumsatnces where b4 the brewster fight cause it was definitely g mans ego that caused that loss, not to mention a semi decent left hook by brewster!!! LOL!!!

If the blood comes back then I say have a couple of tune ups with him in charge of the g mans arsenal to see what he can bring to the table.

I think this may be all part of a publicity stunt though cause the die hard golota fans will eat it up, including me.

So JC, what is your honest opinion on this?

thats when blood really believed in him. Can he ignite that spark again?

I feel it is a publicity stunt for fools like us to buy into. Yeah, im sold on the idea and I will be cheering for that golota to be back in the ring but golota himself is still unsure about fighting. I am willing to give it a chance but I was really pumped about Mcgirt being in his corner. Have Mcgirt and bloodworth ever worked together as head trainer and co-trainer? That would be very interesting to see.

He was so proud of his come back efforts prior to the brewster thing so maybe now he is thinking "Yeah I can make it so far but when I try and reach the top it never happens so why bother? grandpapa wants to make money on my name but thats all it is."

I am kinda getting that vibe from him when he spoke after the bates fight. And what about bloodworth? He knows he would make some decent money himself if he comes back into the fold so his belief of andrews abilities are secondary.

I wish JC would go into detail about what andrew really wants out of all this. We all know what we want. We want to see him become the champion he can be because we all know he has the abilities to become a champ and that would justify all of us for supporting him all these years. We could rub it in all those peoples faces that have told us "He Sucks!!!", "Hes a bum!!", and we all said "Na, He had a few bad nights. thats all. He will become champ!" Then they laugh at us, call us crazy or whatever.

I still believe our day of justification is coming. If it does not happen no big deal, it is expected...but if it does happen.............

man, I could not even begin to describe what i would feel........

I noticed you are a bit hesitant to remark about golota vs klitschko as I am in full agreeance. But once I read your post I mentally envisioned golotas last dissaster. In my vision, Brewster Koed wlad again and got the IBF title. ruslan and ibragimov are set to unify so they are busy so golota is set up with Liakovich to fight for an eliminator for the IBF title that brewster now holds and quits in a fight he was winning so he does not have to deal with the pressure of possibly being koed again by brewster.

To be HISTORICALLY accurate-

I had an individual living upstairs from me that belonged to a group of people that settled in North America after the European Kennewick man but before the European settlers arrived in the New World. I decided to move into his place because he didn't have a lease and he was basically a vagrant that moved from vacant apartment to vacant apartment. I didn't ask him because he didn't speak an intelligible language and he couldn't read or write, so communication was near impossible. I really liked his apartment, even though there was no running water, plumbing, central
heating, or electricity. I did have to take the tree bark off the walls and put up sheetrock, which made it look really nice. Even so, I gave him a 5'x5' space in the corner of the room in an attempt to civilize him. I had a lofty idea in mind so I didn't charge him rent. I made him throw out the stench ridden animal skins that he was wearing and gave him a nice set of clothes. I taught him how to use the newly installed utilities and how to read and write. It wasn't long before he had a job interview. On the way to the interview he stopped by a liquor store and picked up a bottle of whiskey. It wasn't long before his whole life revolved around his "firewater."After putting up with his continual drunkeness, attempted scalpings and a multitude of illegitimate children, I shot them. What a beautiful apartment I now have.:rofl

ok, so youre a racist then? nice. glad to hear that you think a native language is not intelligible. as well, nice to hear that you think a people's traditions going back just as far as europeans is uncivilized. just curious...how exactly do you define civilized? who determines what is civilized and what is not? why is your definition any better than anyone elses? hey, based on your statements and little story, i will give you this. you do remind me of a former leader who had millions of people believing his definition of a perfect world was correct. ya...you remind me a bit of Adolph Hitler. if they dont conform, fuck 'em and kill 'em...our way is the only way...your way is wrong and must be destroyed. good job bud

Of course it wasn't morally right how advanced Europeans came to Native American land and slaughtered the less advanced indians instead of trying to co-exist peacefully (which probably wasn't gonna happen anyway). I have a lot of respect and admiration for the native american culure. That said, this was a time of conquer and colonize. Many countries in the past were invaded. The euros invaded America and created the greatest country on the planet. Sure, it's not without flaws, but my god, there are so manny worse places on earth to be raised (S.Africa, middle east, Korea etc). The Native Americans fought bravely, but lost there land to whitey, we live in a great nation because of it, and I'm not gonna complain about it. Although I dont want to see America become like Mexico via super rich minority and mass slave labor.

What does anyone think of a Golota/Holyfield bout? What is the benefit? Would Holyfield take it? Could Golota win it? Holy might be interested because Golota can pull a PPV and generate some $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$.

What does the Golota faithful think?

Holyfield will make G-man snap for the last and final time. If the headbutts from tyson made him quit then multiple headbutts from the headbutt champion of the world would make G-man resurect the quiter, nuttjob persona. One of which the public has never seen before...... Sounds like a coming attraction to a damn monster movie But thats how it would most definitely play out.

That's what I was thinking about a preposed Golota-Holy matchup, Holy's headbutts. We already saw how badly Golota reacted towards Tyson's butts, Tyson read the book but Holyfield wrote it.

If Golota can avoid Holyfield's headbutts, he should be able to wear the old man down to either a late stoppage or UD.

Both guys are represented by King, so this match-up is quite possible. I hope it happens.

Golota and Bloodworth working together again, I cannot wait to see!!! Bloodworth can't turn back the clock but maybe just maybe he can get Golota to the next closest thing, get that jab snapping a bit more, throw more straight hard punches. Golota can really crack when he loads that right hand, but lately he's been winging that shit. Bloodworth will fix this.

Is Golota definately working with Bloodworth again? That's OUTSTANDING news! Is this confirmed????

Bring on Golota-Holyfield!

I'd love to see Golota and Bloodworth back together again.

Golota and Tua were both at their very best when with Bloodworth. When Tua reunited with Bloodworth, he actually began looking better again than he had in a long time.

Since Golota seemingly has more left in the tank, I reckon nothing but good things can come from reuniting with Bloodworth. Bloodworth's the man!

Without a doubt, Golota's most physically skillful years were under Duva and Bloodworth, and Golota has not looked as good since. Of course the car accident attributed more than the loss of Bloodworth, but even so, I believe if there is anyone who can get Golota back to old form (or at least the closest thing), that man is Roger Bloodworth. Bloodworth (with Duva) made Golota the awesome spicimen he once was, maybe he can do it again.

Beck is best choice, Mollo is enigma for Golota and Meehan may be dangerous cause he is Brewster friend so is Golota f.. him up then Brewster may be really angry.

And if the best you can come up with is Jimmy Thunder, then let's get back to Golota.

Jimmy Thunder was an injun eh? Golota was supposed to scalp him in '99, but Thunder pulled out due to an injury and was replaced by Jesse The Boogie Man Ferguson. Supposedly, Golota was very un-nerved when he learned The Boogie Man was gonna step in so late in the going. Before the fight Larry Merchant said "Golota's freaking out over Jesse Fergusson? I don't see it happening that way. A title elim between AG & Evander "HEAD BUTT" Holyfield would make sense. 2 old HW's going after a title. One for the 5th time & the other looking for his first.

And even though this is what I'm predicting, I also feel this would be the end of Golota's comeback. Golota is vunerable to left hooks & Holy will be throwing it all night 'til he connects. Or else the worst possible senerio...Holy head butts AG (which he certainly will do) & Golota freaks out & does something stupid...again.

As much as I'd love to see Golota beats the living shit out of Holyfield, I just don't see it...especially if Golota doesn't look ALOT better that he did against Bates.

I think Golota did well against Bates. Bates was coming strong forward looking for same outcome as Brewster. Holyfield is much sliker and would be dancing around Golota beeing more cautious. Golota would keep him outside at the jab distance. I don't think Holyfield would mix early.

I think Golota can look ALOT better then he did against Bates. He barely got a chance to shake off any ring rust after 2 years in not even 2 rounds. I think he needs another fight or 2 to get back into the swing of things, then we will really be able to judge AG's chances. He is getting older, but just 2 years ago he IMO beat 2 heavyweight champions. Both of which from what I hear Holyfield had trouble with, btw.

Holyfield looked good against Savarese, who is an old never has been heavyweight. If Golota shows a shadow of his Bowe era self, I think he could give Holyfield trouble, although he would have to watch out for getting caught. Either way, I think he can beat Holyfield if the fight was to happen.

This is what I hope it'll be like. But it all depends on Golota's next performance or two. Can't really try to draw any conclusions till then.

You really think Holyfield could hurt Golota? Maybe he can...But even this version of Evander?

I think you may be buying in to the hype just a bit. Evander has done pretty well against guys like Bates and Savarese, but these guys are SLOW, club fighters. Even today's Golota is so much more technically skilled than the guys Evander has been winning against.

But I agree with you, if Golota can't show us something better than he showed us against Bates, his comeback probably won't last and he will lose when he steps up. But I'm hoping it was just the ring rust, extra weight and Bates' smothering style that made him look bad.

Probably because Holy has the mental toughness from being a Champion, physically looks in great shape, landed a hell of a left hook that spun Lou's head around, would be coming forward all night, even if he's eating labs & would pressure Golota to the braking point.

If, IF, AG gets serious & works his ass off & can gets in a few fights before getting a knee-knocker like a Holyfield fight, he should be able to retire Holy, in style.

But remember the final & major factor. This is AG we're talking about & things just don't come ez for him.

I think if Golota lands a fight with Holyfield, he'll come to the fight in the very best condition possible for a 39 year old Golota. He and his camp will treat it like a title fight. Even though the fight won't be for a belt, it will still be a major accomplishment for Golota should he beat Holyfield. Golota has never OFFICIALLY beatin' anyone with a big name (unless you wanna count a 40 year old Witherspoon), and Holyfield is a hall of famer. Hopefully Golota will get Bloodworth back in there, or stick with McGirt. Anyone but Colongne, not happy with him. And yes he'll defiitely need at least 2 more tune-ups before taking on a warrior like Holyfield. Should all this fall in to place, I believe Golota can definitely beat Holyfield, but as you said, this is Golota we're talkin' about so all bets are off. Nope, they wouldn't risk the title shot. Both Golota and Holyfield wants title shot and they will face lesser guys, I think TOS, Barrett, Austin are more natural.

Also both Holyfield and Golota have unfinished bussiness with Ruiz and Byrd.
