Experience:
Light training Kickboxing for 7 months ( Nothing Serious )
Heavy Boxing training for 9 Months ( Very serious )

Goals:
~ Increase my endurance by alot (Reached)
~ Increase handspeed/power (Reached)
~ Till i get my first fight (May 5th & June have kickboxing fights but will continue until my first Boxing fight)



Wednesday 31st August '11( 9 AM ):
~ 20 Mins fast pace running with a few sprint bursts
~ 3x3 Round shadowboxing with 2Kg weights
~ 200 Ab work
~ 3x3 Rounds Punching bag
~ 200 ab work
~ 2x3 Round Skip rope

Note: today wanted to mainly do some fitness, not much technique at all apart from that bit of shadowboxing for some easy footwork. Did a few pads for 2 beginners and they really enjoyed it

( 7 PM ) ( Light Training ):
~ 5 Minutes Shadowboxing
~ 4 Touch combos x10 ( Abwork/Floorwork )
~ 300 Regular Abwork
~ 1 set ;
- 10 Burpees
- 10 Pushups
- 10 One leg squats
- 10 Regular squats

Note: just a quick training just to do that little bit extra than i usually would. A little let down i only did 1 Set, ill be aiming to do 3 next time. Overall was pleasent

Note:
Uncomfortable training due to the floor being slippery since it was an evening session and floor was sweaty (Thats why i love morning training). Very happy, coach Brown was amazed by me and asked how long ive been training, after i replied he was speechless and said that i was going to become a great fighter. Made my day, surely going to motivate for tomorrow morning at 7am

Note:
Very good intense fitness training, improved alot regarding heavybag. Very happy i managed to take the sets up to x3 instead of x1 like last time and i did more work with them to, seeing quite an improvement.

Note: Nothing really hard just a regular session, did an interesting excercise on the heavybag. Since i could only hit with 1 hand (due to hand injury) he put the glove under my elbow and told me to never drop it (This forces you to keep your right hand up). Was harder than i imagined but really worked.

You've only been training for two months? Nice looking combo's with good speed - you must have a good coach and some work ethic.

You might want to increase that swim time a bit, it's helpful in so many ways.

Have you done any sparing yet?

Thanks alot mate, everyones telling me im going very good and very impressive but as you can see i do train as hard i can and its the thing i love most. I think i started boxing slightly late, i see a very few fighters age 17 around the world and they already have their pro license which is what i dream for. Ye i should do some good swimmin but i usually use it to cool down after the jog. Sparring.. yes i've sparred a few times.. but nothing really special maybe 2 rounds just to try it out, and yes i got to amazing coaches which are very young ( both 24 years old and pros). Thanks again for the feedback

Sounds like you'll have a chance to do well.

I wouldn't let the slightly late start be a concern, looks like you're making up for it.

Quality sparing is the key IMO, but I imagine your coaches have that well in hand.

Thanks! :D Ill be sparring with a really good fighter a year younger than me but has been training for 6 years now, i always liked sparring vs people much better than me :!:

Note:
( First month of the training log, busy month and a really nice one. Might be doing a progress chart to check the level of each training session to see were i was weak ). So well i did some sparring and i got knocked out on the 3rd round, as crazy as this sounds i enjoyed it as a first experience. The harder this sport gets the more i end up loving it. Very good session did very well with technique. Overall in sparring i was amazing, the guy had 4 years experience over me, weighs heavier, hits MUCH harder but on clean shots i was hitting 3:1. I was amazed, feel bad i got 1 punch KOed but did well.

no problem (:. Fixed shadowboxing is very different for us. We go in a line and the coach punch by punch what to do, example. Jab, Slip, Reverse, Hook, Turn etc. Like his he can see any punch he wants and sees what your doing wrong

Very very heavy run, did very well and was the fastest from all of us which was pretty awesome even though i got blisters all over

Another heavy month, did much better this month and improved alot. Sure did spar much more, trained harder in the last 2 weeks and have all my muscles killing me. I did not achieve one of my goals which was get a fight in December cause coach couldn't find me anyone, but ill keep on trying as hard as i can.

Wednesday 4th April:

~ Boxing Class

Note:
Alright, i've got a Kickboxing fight on May 5th. Decided to go full contact (Don't like fancy kicks just 2-3 kicks and lets have war). Haven't done kickboxing in months but i felt like a fight so i just told coach to put me in. Weighing at 63Kg right now, if possible i'll try to keep it at a steady 61-62 ( harder than i imagined ). Not going to write every single excercise like i used to as i figured out people don't even watch the sessions but mainly read the notes, (obviously if you would like some good workouts read the note and then follow the workout). Waiting for AIBA to get accepted in Malta then going to get as many fights as possible. Only did 1 session today which is alright i guess since im building up my body to its fittest form again, was very heavy and honestly putting my 110% into everything im doing.

Did 1 session Boxing class.. was reallll good and feeling the fitness come back to be, my speed is still very impressive and im very happy bout that. I currently weigh 63Kg and need to go down to 61Kg which is going to be hard considering my current state .. but obviously hard just motivates me to work hardER

Happy Easter everybody! :good Rainy day today but that doesn't stop me! Did some shadowboxing and sprints and some slow jogging as active rest. Shoulders are still a bit fucked but I think they'll get better soon. Tomorrow start some kickboxing again need to get those kicks ready to kill!

Some extremely heavy boxing class, was real good and quite a killer, figured art i'd start out something i planned long ago, southpaw stance. I always loved trying to fight as a southpaw and i feel comfortable with it, only thing i don't feel comfortable with it the left body shot but other than that its good to use, i'll test it out in sparring

21st April fight night was pretty good. 8 fights, Malta VS England and Malta only lost once which was pretty good. Tyron (our fighter) won his fight on points and surely got the best support possible from all of us.

I cant keep up with this training log. Right now got my final exams.. thinking bout taking a year off school and box full time (twice a day at the moment) squeeze as many fights as i can.. AIBA has been introduced over here but they are looking for officials right now. Coach is working on the new gym and hopefully by mid May he'll have it opened just after i finish my exams. After that ill squeeze as many fights in as possible. Had the Boxing charity marathon last saturday, did really good. A manager spoke to me asked me how old i was and how long i've been training, asked me whether i fought before and said this was the first time i performed in public. He said i need more public confidence but im very talented and will make big money one day. If possible i will try not to work all summer and just box instead and see how it goes from there. My dream is big but my goals are short and realistic with help of my team and myself. A journalist who came to watch us spoke to me and asked me what inspires me so much. I said alot of things inspire me, but its mainly my team and I. We are nobody yet we run like horses, work like machines & fight like warriors which really sounded good. I just wish the best of luck to all my team and also myself cause together we push eachothers talents to its 110% .. this training log was always very inspiring remembering the progress over the months. Remember running the stairs on my own i would repeat "This is what is going to make me the best one day" .. my confidence has boosted up by alot but not over confident, i know what i do in the ring and whatever i do i either do it the best or don't do it at all. Nobody remembers the #2.
