Had the knock out come from a single punch, this thread might have some credit, but it was a culmination of punches that finished Hatton. Floyd doesn't hit hard. Stop bullshitting yourselves.

Lol you're right, Hatton was hitting the turnbuckle when he was mocking Floyd's padwork in 24/7. Sweet irony.

Amazing that Hatton had only been down once.

And PBF, who isn't known for his power, knocked him down and then out.

It wasn't so much a case of power as it was of beautiful speed and timing. Hatton was caught lunging in full force, and so his own momentum contributed to the ultimate impact of the shot -- and to make matters even worse, he smashed into the turnbuckle right afterwards. I'm surprised he even got up, considering that.

get real bloody wanker :D

if hatton would not have got hitten with the left hook then he would have finnished the fight i think, the 8th rd hatton was looking like gatti but his heart kept him in there.but what im saying is if the check left hook would not have landed then hatton would have finnished the fight, so its not so hard to believe that pbf hit hatton with a one hitter quitter.:thumbsup

I don't know about that, they say Hatton has a solid chin and yet this fight was over because of this 1 shot,Hatton was completely fresh IMO before this 1 punch.

Hatton was supposed to have a steel chin and had been down only once in his career and ONE shot from Floyd knocked him down and basically out because after he got up (barely) from it he was no longer on earth.
Remember how "one shot" knocked down the steel chinned Gatti in the first round of Floyd's fight too? Floyd has more power than you dumbass haters think.
And in case you don't believe me here's a reminder:

I think it's going a bit far to say he was fresh. Mayweather was picking off Hatton, regularly landing shots at his face. This doesn't take anything away from his knockout punch, it's just to say that Hatton was nowhere near fresh at this stage of the fight.

As for Mayweather, he's a smart person. It suits him perfectly to be under estimated because he can launch a surprise during the fight. He obviously trains very hard, but is smart enough to divert people's attentions to other things (the money, the taunts, the trash talk etc...)

Regarding the Gatti KD:

Gatti backed away, inexplicably, and turned to complain to the red about something...Floyd took that opportunity to pop him with the hook, causing Thunder to drop to a knee. Hardly a resounding knockdown- legit, but not exactly an indication of PBF's power.

The Hatton kd was very impressive, however. Floyd rel8ies more and speed and technique than actual power, but he can still punch from time to time.
