Sad but true. If they had any real talent they would be boxing and making millions of dollars a year. What does your typical MMA fighter pull in a fight? 150 dollars lol? They are for the most part journeymen, look at your top MMA fighter they lose HALF their fights. They are boxers who couldnt make it as boxers, the talent pool is so low, its a novelty sport at best. It will never compete with boxing in its wildest dreams.

If the MMA fighters wanted to make some real money, they could probably make more working at a Taco Bell than the pay they get from Dana White.

Nope.
The vast majority of MMA fighters come from other disciplines such as Sambo, Judo, BJJ, Wrestling, Muay Thai etc etc

There are many Olympic caliber competitors in MMA.

Thread = Fail :hi:

Very flawed view G_RapPBF.

Every sport has talent in their own right, fighters like Fedor, Kid Yama etc are most definetely not 'untalented'.

FAIL

MMA would probably take great skill if it had any fighters with great skill.

Think about it, they fight in a sport when you earn little to no money and you are gonna lose most your fights anyway. Dont you think if they had any talent they would be boxing? Making millions. Oscar made 40 mil in one night. Think any MMA fighter sees a 3rd of that in their entire career? The mayweather vs Hatton fight probably made more money then any MMA fight combined in history.

Boxing sucks. It isn't in the same league as the NFL.

Let's see if as many people tuned in to see Mayweather vs. Hatton as will watch the Superbowl.

Boxing will never be that big. It's day is done and american football is the real shit. Deal with it.

Seriously, if you go to a baseball forum do people talk about it being better than soccer? Why are some people around so threatened by MMA, and its growing popularity? It's not very difficult to figure out what to do in your situation. If you don't like it, don't watch it.

I hate NASCAR. I don't watch it. I'm not going to start a boxing vs racing thread.

Oh, and Don Frye? What about Ray Mercer losing to guy who was in his MMA debut? He was old? Frye is 42, and was drunk at the time.

Nobodies threatened by MMA. It will never NEVER be as big as boxing. Boxing is the second most popular sport in the world behind soccer easy.

Boxing is not the second most popular sport in the world.

Soccer is #1, then you have basketball, car racing(nascar,F1,rally,cart), tennis, golf, and probably even volleyball are all ahead of boxing.

Boxing is my favorite sport. It doesn't bother me at all that these other sports are more popular. I won't even care if thumb wrestling takes it spot in fans' rankings.

Nascar, Golf, F1, tennis arent even close to Boxing in terms of popularity. MAYBE basketball. But boxing is second in latin America, about 3rd or 3th in North America, about 3rd in Europe and is growing all over Asia.

Second or third easy. Name another sport where people will pay 54 bucks to watch an hour of action?

MMA is a fad that will run its course, soon enough.

It'll die out and fade away, much like cabbage patch kids, and tickle me elmo did.

I can't find any better sources in this short of time, but they are just as valid as someone typing in a forum anyway.

Paenkhay, you ever heard of sarcasm?

People keep complaining about a sport, that does have a section in this forum by the way, and I can't figure out why. Then keep throwing up the amount of people viewing boxing as opposed to it, and which one is more popular, and who's fans have the largest penis, and so on... like it really matters to the person who likes a particular sport. People that like MMA are not going to stop liking it because someone who post at east side tells them to.

Yea dude, no talent at all.

Same with Hockey players. Even the best make what? 10 million for AN ENTIRE SEASON? If Hockey players had any real skill, they would be boxers.

The same goes for tennis players. They are all a bunch of wannabes. If they had any real skill, they would be boxers making MUCH MUCH more money...

True, but the only thing sad about it is that they falsely claim to be doing "martial arts." This crap is nothing more than street fighting, plain and simple. Anybody can do it, and anybody is whom you usually see.
