Id also like to know some good back upper and lower exercises (i dont use weight machines) but i do obv the usual body weight exercises the only time i feel my back has worked out is when im using the heavy bag
We do alot of core exercises in the gym, because is really improves your punching power and body movement.

It's not only important, it's probably one of the most important.
The core strength is what will keep you on your feet in a boxing match. Without core strength you will fall to the ground like a sack of potatoes. You'll also be a very open target for body shots, because your opponent can hit you pretty much wherever he wants knowing that you can't take the blow.
Your defence is pretty much inexistant without core strength/flexibility. These are the main components required for a good boxing defence.
If you take some time and just practice dodging non-stop for 5-10 minutes, you'll see how important core strength and flexibility are.
Watch fighters like Naseem Hamed or Flloyd Mayweather, and try to imitate their defensive movement. In fact, try and re-inact one round of theirs and you'll see just how much you'll be relying on flexibility and core strength.
Without these two important factors, you can never be a boxer. You would be knocked out in the first round of any match.
