His brother just won an MMA bout on shotime in like 20 seconds. Hopefully this one lasts a little longer.
I'll be ringside baby.

Another good ESPN card and a nice step up for Berto. This fight should tell us a little more about Andre.

Yeah I saw that shit on Showtime the other night. Berto could probably train UFC and kick ass within a few months.

Eh.
Let them both win titles in their respective sports and that would be one hell of a fighting family.

Let's see if Berto will win more impressively than Joel Julio did against Rivera

Or even Zabdiel. That would be impressive, all things considered.

Berto is always entertaining and rather humble. So far I ride with him.

GL: So were you impressed with Cotto?
AB: "Uhh, I was impressed with his heart. In terms of skills he's a pretty decent fighter, but I was most impressed with his heart."
GL: How many fights before you're ready for a Cotto?
AB: "We're looking to get a few more fights in, but I think that's a fight I'll be looking at before the end of next year. Maybe sooner. I think after a few more fights, I'll be right there and ready for any of them."
This is from a recent interview on boxingtalk.com. I wouldn't call Berto humble, but I wouldn't exactly call him arrogant either. He's a confident fighter who's ready to take off the training wheels. Hopefully Dibella won't hold him back much longer.

Why isn't he humble??? Because he's not sucking Cotto's dick??? He spoke his opinion.

He's not humble because he has alot of confidence in his skills and isn't afraid tell people how good he thinks he is. I don't think that's a bad quality at all. In fact I think being humble is not a good quality for a fighter to have. There is no need to resort to vulgar comments just because I said Berto isn't humble. I like Berto and I'm glad he's not afraid to say what's on his mind.

The only thing that you showed me with that quote is that you're a newb. I don't understand how a man is asked a simple question, responds in as sincere a fashion as he possibly can and hence is no longer humble. I don't see the correlation. If someone asked me the same question about Cotto I'd probably respond in the exact same fashion.
Hey, I guess he was supposed to say, "Cotto's the greatest. All praise is due to him. I was impressed by everything he did in that fight including his walk to the ring. To be honest, I'm thankful for the opportunity to even speak about Cotto. Fight him??? I think you've got the wrong guy. I'm just little ol' Andre Berto. He's way out of my league . . . will Gatti be available by the end of next year?"
Sidenote: Being humble and having confidence in one's self are not mutually exclusive.

"marked by meekness or modesty; not arrogant or prideful"
That is a basic defination of what humble means. Any 23 year old boxer who only only has 18 pro fights, has fought no one of note, and belives he'll be able to beat the best in the division is not modest(I hope you know what modest means, and also know that it's a synonym of humble, I don't want to have to look up more definitions.) You don't have to be a genious to know what humble means. If you read my whole post you would see that not only do I not have a problem with what Berto said, but that I'm happy he feels that way. My only argument was that he's not humble. Once again, I don't think not being humble is a bad thing. I like Berto, and I like that he's confident in his ablilities. I have no problem with what Berto said.
