The Countdown to the highly anticipated Daniel Geale vs Daniel Dawson match scheduled for December 14 is nearly over.

The fighters had their weigh ins this evening with Daniel Geale weighing in at 159.6 pounds & Daniel Dawson tipping the scales at 158.6 pounds respectively.

Both boxers will attempt to keep their perfect boxing records intact & only 1 will walk away victorious with the IBO Middleweight Title.
Daniel Dawson (29-0 20ko) & his trainer Craig Christian have had a few words to say over the past couple of days. stating they will end the undefeated streak of former Commonwealth Games Gold Medallist Daniel Geale.
Daniel Geale (17-0 12ko) on the other hand has remained low key with only his mentor Jeff Fenech saying the odd confident word or 2 in the leadup to the fight.

Either way it should be 1 tremendous match "where someone's 0 has gotta go".
Be prepared to tune in from 7.30pmEST/5.30pmWST on Fox Sports around Australia.

The undercard is a stellar 1 too with all the weights as follows:

Daniel Geale 159.6 vs Daniel Dawson 158.6 - IBO Middleweight Title 12 x 3.
Eddie Delic 146.6 vs Matthew Paulley 146.2 - Australian Welterweight Title 10 x 3.
King Davidson 151.7 vs Frank LoPorto 154 - Junior Middleweights 8 x 3.
Sam Colomban 145.1 vs Solomon Egberime 146.5 - Welterweights 6 x 3.
Steve Casserley 153 vs Arnel Balicuatro 149.1 - Junior Middleweights 4 x 3.

Im going Geale by 8th round stoppage.Accumulation of constant accurate punches to break Dawson's to pieces.

Geale seems to be a good talent with the skills and attitude to go far in the fightgame.

The one thing about the bloke which is unfortunate is that hey doesnt seem to have that x factor behind the mike or when speaking that would help create a buzz about the bloke.

I know all that matters in the longrun is the fists doing the talking, but the bigger the mouth and buzz one can create the bigger the paychecks.

You know your struggling when you got Fenech doing all the talking.

Good luck to the lad anyway, hope he takes care of Dawson then maybe take care of SHANNON THE GRUB TAYLOR???

Geale has won the first 2 rounds with slick movement and connecting with punches in bunches.

Good bout.

Dawson looking very stiff at the moment.

Up to the 7th now.

Geale looking good but cut and marked.

Id say he would be ahead, but Dawson is very competitive, could be closer than the announcers reckon.

I agree. Dawson did a lot of good body work early that the commentator's haven't been giving him credit for and took most of Geale's shot on the gloves. And it seems to me that Geale is slowing down a bit now.

Looks to be going the distance unless Geale continues to slow down and Daniel pulls a big shot out. But Geale's defence is solid and I can't see it happening at the moment.

Good fight, not dramatic but just quality.

Last 3 rounds have been heaps close, Dawson could be wearing him down but Geale is outscoring him, he is happy to land a slap or a light punch, just as long as he is the one landing it.
Solid work from the Tasmanian, he should be ahead on the cards.

11th close, Geale outlanded him, starting the round real well but Dawson came on strong late, mostly ineffective but had Geale on the defensive.

Expect the Rock to come out firing in the last round, Geale is surely well ahead, he should just play it safe.

Awesome last round.
Dawson tried but was buggered, Geale unloading on him toward the end but Dawson took them all, almost looked like he stuck his chin out and let Geale hit him.

I had it to Geale 118-110 (added them up wrong at first), but tough and gritty at times for him, as I stated Daniel Dawson isnt a true "boxer" but he showed again tonight he is an amazing "fighter". Geale clearly won the boxing match but it wasnt all one way overall.
Dan Geale showed great skills, amazing fitness and a good chin, but especially a very good D to protect that chin.

Marcus bring on my punishment.

Geale by a near shut out on points! But it one of those fights where Dawson never looked hurt or troubled and Geale got cut and marked up but out boxed Dawson.

It was enough to keep Dawson off him and certainly kept him discouraged .Geale it appeared had a plan to box him with quick combos and not load up heaps, so his power was never really on display tonight.

His jab had Dawson's head snapping back a few times, that looked excellent.

That would be a good fight for him to take, a good career bulider.

Im not sure why but I think thats still a tough fight for him, with a minor element of danger but in all honestly, based on tonights effort, he should stop Taylor late because Geale kept the pace up all night long.

Props to daniel geale, won me over as a fan, very good fight and after that performance deserves nothing but respect, dawson didnt look taht intimidating as i thought he would and didnt really have much sting on his punches tonight i dont feel, he just looked abit down then what i expected him, however this is mostly to do with geale outboxing him clearly and purely you can not state how great he boxed without seeing it.... i will now have 3 months of hideous avatars to prove it.....

Geale looked extremely classy tonight.Showed solid defence and great composure.Picked his punches to almost perfection.

From the get go Geale looked as if he was 1 step ahead of Dawson.Though have to give credit to Dawson for showing great heart and determination to try get himself in the fight even when copping several combos.

Credit to both fighters in a top class domestic bout.

Now where to for Geale??

Andy Raymond mentioned Shannon Taylor wanting the winner:rofl .

That mug is way on the outside looking in,but go ahead make the fight and let Shannon be embarrassed by a real exciting aussie talent.

But make the fight i quess.

Be the best name on Geale's win list i quess.

Hope Geale gradually makes his way up the ranks,as i think by the end of 08 Geale could push himself in the top 10 forsure.

yes, geale deserved to win the fight, but i had it about 117-112, in my opinion Dawson wasn't given a fair go, you didn't get to hear his speech at the end either. Full credit to Geale though he dominated the fight and didn't let Dawson use his power.

Someone should of told Geale to layoff with the combos and stiff jab hey:patsch

Your from W.A i gather:|

Will admit it was rough by Fox for cutting Dawson's speech off.He deserved to be payed respect for a courageous showing.

Great win for Dan Geale, very proud for the guy having followed his career since his pro debut.
Whats next tho?? Shannan Taylor maybe.
He beats Taylor by mid to late rounds stoppage i reckon.

Soliman can easily fight at Middle & was commontating tonight as well.

I think it may have been more of the style of fight his corner wanted to fight, that made it seem that way.
