I think we know that no one would view this as a tuneup fight. Tune ups typically haven't fought at the championship level.

I know you're trying to prove a point. However, I think that it's very apparent that most respected posters here that felt that it was an "easy" fight meant so in this way.

Margarito's fans were saying he was a the bane of PBF's existance and gave him more than an even chance of beating him. Many posters said it would be an easy fight in COMPARISON to what Margarito's fans thought it would be. Margarito's fans thought it would be a tough fight that Margo would end up winning. I thought (and think) it would be a clear UD for PBF, in a good but not so close fight. But not easy.....not tune up easy.

PBF would not risk fighting a "tune up" opponent of Margs stature, he is far from a tune up fighter anyway. PBF would win, but it would be risky as a tune up fight.

Margo is not a tune up for any fighter period. Floyd would beat him by a wide UD but you really can't call Margo a tune up type fighter. At the same time I don't think he is anywhere close to bieng an elite either as the only person he fought is a green paul Williams and lost.

I don't like Margarito the least bit im more of a Cotto fan

But Cotto's chin is suspect can he stand in there and fight somebody who can't be beat down he would have to box Margarito which he probably could but his pride will tell him to stand toe to toe and he'd end up looking like Kermit Cintron.

Margarito throws the right type of punches to beat a Cotto and his reach is another factor he'd out work Cotto if not knock him out im willing to put money on it Miguel is good but he has a lot of flaws other fighters like Margarito could expose.

Most of us like Floyd just as much as the next guy - but I doubt if Floyd would view Margarito as a tune-up - since he trains for every fight as a championship fight.

I think Mayorga would be a good tune-up fight. It would be fun to watch, and they could put this on FREE t.v., and have tons of casual/non-boxing fans tune in to see a complete beat-down. It would create more interest in a future PPV against Cotto, so it would be a win-win for both fighters and fans alike.
