If i wasnt a fan before then i am now - this kid is fucken great. Took a pretty big, but well calculated risk, fighting Tommy and came out on top. So where now from here for the young guy? He obviously likes to stay active which is awesome. Maybe a fight with Zappa (if he goes back to lightweight) and then try his hand in the states? Or would you like to see him have at least 15 or so local fights before going for the bigger stuff overseas. Its hard not to get excited over such an awesome prospect :good

he is great with a big future, MSTR was right to give him a big rap.
What weight should he fight at? He seams to fight over over the place. After the fight he said he is fighting on the um, Chris John undercard, i think.
Great prospect, he would smash Lenni Zap.....sorry Huricn.

I think he is best suited at Super Feather or Lightweight.
It very much depends if he comes in weight drained at 130.
If so then i would say 135.

i think he looked best at 135... but he is young so he can make weight pretty easily at 130, 135 or even 140 i should think
Kickett excited the hell outa me , his footwork and timing for a guy with 7 pro fights is ridiculous , he was basically dictating the whole fight with browne , he rested when he wanted , and gassed it up when he wanted and fighting a guy thats fought Chris john and Chi for world titles.

his jab/cross combos were awesome - good to see a fast young guy who realises the importance of a great quick jab

Kickett next has a fight on the Vic Darchinyan undercard in Philipines.
After that they want Gairy St Clair in mid year by the sounds.
St Clair is a massive step up for Kickett IMO.
I would preferably would like them to until the end 2008 before facing the likes of St Clair.

Put it this way.
If Kickett keeps on winning at this rate, & beats Gairy St Clair well, which aint a given.
Then he could be ready for a title shot by early 2009.
I just hope Craig & the boys dont push him too far too soon.

I think 135 is his weight and there are some very good fighters at that weight in OZ, but what was said last night worried me a bit, saying they won't StClair next year. Look the kid is 20 years old and that mite rushing him.

He would beat St Clair now, Gairy is done as a world class fighter. He has no power and just runs away bobbing and moving, i think Kickett would catch him in the end.

Kickett is a gifted talent, a real natural but two things i'd like to see him "improve on" would be to carry his left hand a little higher and to change gears more during a fight.
Taking in to account his inexperience, he has done a great job so far and has proved to be too good for his level of comp. He was easily outboxing Brown but seemed to fight a little one paced. He did the same with Dulog. I'd just like to see him step it up a notch or two when he is in control of a fight.
Technically, he is very fast and a natural athlete with good instincts but his weakness could be his susceptibility to an overhand right. Tommy caugh him a few times with it and he has been hit with rights before. a heavier puncher could be a problem...and they don't seem to be sitting on this kid with plans to fight St.Clair next year. His left hand carry is too low at times.
Not being a knock on the guy, but since he is going to be stepping it up next year, I think he has a few things to work on.
Just my 2c worth.

Willy looked very good, but did get caught with that overhand right. Just concerns me slightly as well.
Marcus mate there is no rush for Willy, as he is only 20.:deal

I dont think he is in any danger fighting St Clair.

st clair is a massive danger in my opinion has silky slick boxing skills, and he wont be toying around like he did with oyan, but if he can get by him by all means that opens a world of opportunities i feel..... still waiting on anyone if they taped the show or if someone has found it on the net?

I dont think he is in any danger fighting St Clair. If he was 25 i would be all for it, but i just think at 20, he is still growing & filling out.
No need to risk alot just yet.

I doubt it.
Lenny has morphed into a wild puncher these days. He needs to tidy up a bit IMO.
Kickett would have plenty of opportinities to land flush on Lenny. And Lennys chin has betrayed him a few times now.
Kickett would stop him.

I think Willie is our version of Amir Khan in England.
Amir just turned 21 and is starting to take on the bigger names like Earl etc in Britain and there's now even talk of a Katsidis fight.
Willie is 20 and that win over Tommy Brown not only was impressive but a huge rise in class as well. I think he's capable of taking on all comers here in Oz over the nxt 12-18 months

The kid shows great maturity, natural speed and footwork with a nice defense. I was a little worried about the step up in class but there was no probs with him handling it. Looks like one out of the box and will be one to watch in the coming years.

I agree for the most part, his defense didn't look very strong though, he seemed to get tagged by the straight right quite easily and it was a fight Browne would of won if he kept up his balance and energy that he had in the first round.

I still dont believe Browne would have won had he have taken a warmup or 2.
I reckon it was the best i had seen Browne in 2 plus yrs.
Lots of his recent fights against Filipino imports had been very ordinary displays.
Hope he has the hunger to continue fighting.
Would be great to see with Lenny Zappa as well.
