Yeah this is a fight I would love to have seen. I think Eubank's awkward style would work in his favour here, enough for him to take a close decision.

I think Calzaghe would win every round. He's just far too busy
... but yet a far past-his-prime Eubank took a young Calzaghe the distance. I don't get it:huh
Prime Eubank would be a more potent threat, I can't see this being a shutout.

what beat eubank/s was counterpunchers with a high workrate
collins ,watson and calzaghe were perfect for them roy jones would win toney would of lost but only becuase eubank/s outside work was by far better than toney's

he didnt give calzaghe a test, the last 2 round chris knew he had lost every other round so he went to war and threw and landed anything he could on him and he landed a quick shot to the jaw and some nasty body shots nothing would of changed if he was younger or not
people say eubank was out of his prime but he was definatly wasnt shot. at 31 he was by far from being a shell and chris had never lost anything from his power speed and counterering skills. besides he gave carl thompson a cruiserwieght champion a incredibly tough fight and in the rematch was winning on the score cards there was a big row in the newspapers saying the eye wasnt that badly damaged
it wouldnt be any different

Eubank was never as busy and fit as he was in the Calzaghe fight, beyond 1990-1991. He wasn't carrying as much muscle against Calzaghe
In his 1992-95 bodybuilding peak, he'd have been just completely out-worked in every 30-second segment. The guy was the most economical fighter I've seen below HW, and no he wasn't a concussive puncher at all - he was always hitting guys as hard as he could post-Watson and could never take them out, only if the opportunity presented itself could he generate great force with his technique (ala Jarvis). Also consider Calzaghe is very big and strong, not like a Gary Stretch or Sammy Storeynot a concussive puncher he almost killed watson with an uppercut ,left hook. this isnt the sign of a weak uncuncusive puncher he had alot of one punch power he just didnt use it post watson he would rather go the distance and was only getting used to it from being a fighter to a boxer i feel this is why he was so damn awkward is he totally switched strategy early in his title career.
and watson had an iron chin he took the boldest shots from benn mcCallum and a guy i cant remember....british lad rather short anyways loads of power and if eubank hurt him and dropped him then yea i would say chris has concussive power

Eubank himself says his biggest weakness throughout his career was his lack of power
The uppercut that took Watson off his feet had a perfect arc and was an awesome uppercut, but it was Mike's head yanking so quickly off the bottom rope that caused the clot to form (all the punches he had taken alnight wouldn't have helped, either). Remember, Eubank had hit Watson with absolutely everything (even after only 3-4 rounds) and couldn't take him outi didnt say that it was his punching power that caused the clot it was that eubank knocked downa a man with ana iron chin very very hard

Calzaghe again. Eubank bags a few more rounds, maybe 2 last time, call it 4 in his prime.

116-112 - without a shadow of a doubt. 116-111 is impossible
One sentence had ended and another one begun.

115-113 to Eubank :smoke
Eubank did pretty well considering he had only 9 days of camp to lose the weight.
Prime for prime I see a fight that ends in a very close, perhaps controversial, decision.

Eubank ALWAYS lost crazy weight. He freely admits this and its something he did for his whole career. Last week of training is where he usually lost his weight. He says so in his book.

It would be a split decision.. I just don't know who to though.
This would have to be the Eubank before the michael Watson tragedy.
