Adameck is a tough guy, entertaining to watch, and by all appearances a cool dude. But , he begs to be hit with right hands, and probably is on the downside now.Changing weight divisions won't do him any good once he gets to the Bell-Mormeck-Cunningham level. He won't beat these guys.

september 15th - one of these guys is gonna be out. watch adamek - pineda fight and tell us what you think...

That won't do any good. They just just say that Adamek was beating up a journeyman stiff in Pineda. They say Adamek gets hit too much. Not with the footwork & head movement he showed against Pineda & why should that change no matter who is in there with him? Adamek will outbox them all at cruiser. He's got his act together now. Losing to Dawson was the best thing that could have happened to him.

let's wait a few months and we would all see how mormeck is killing adamek:lol:

Adamek went life-and-death with limited BRIGGS, if he didn't have enough firepower to keep Briggs off of his ass, how is he going to keep Mormeck off?

Mormeck is way too big and strong for Adamek.

Tomasz Adamek : Road to Success

Tomasz Adamek 's 2 fights prior to the bout with Ismail Abdoul and his famous Paul Briggs I bout. This is a contemplation of 2 fights, v Ed Dalton[ first fight] and Olivier Beard [second fight]. This is Adameks 25th and 26th pro fights.

How in the world Dalton compiled a record of 27-9 i will never figure out.One thing i do know guys like make me want to turn pro tomorrow and i have no experience.

What other fights do you have Andy?I got some rare ones too.Maybe you have something i dont have and vise versa.

The Dalton KO is nice, Tomek shows some good combination punching, which is rather rare for stand-up European fighters. The opponent was weak though, too be sure. Beard was a little more seasoned (but still a journeyman).

Sad that the Golota thread attracts more people than Adamek.

Why is it sad?

Golota has been around for longer, and people have more memories made watching Golota fights, regardless of their outcome then they have with Adamek so far. Thats prob. why.

Its sad because people like you are still nut hugging a 39 year old fat guy and actually think he might "shake" the heavyweight division with his slow tactics and weak mind, instead of somone like Adamek. I loved Golota.... Fuck I still do...but im not stupid and I know when the right time it is to put a fork in somone. I support my countreys best fighters. Fighters that are active, fresh, and a powerfull force. Seems more people tend to support the opposite of that.

First of all, Golota isnt fat. He always comes inshape to all of his fights, so you are incorrect.

2nd of all its not nuthugging but supporting. I dont care if Golota wins or loses, I'm always gonna be a fan of his, and I try to look at his chances in the future objectively, I never said Golota is gonna beat Klitschko's and rule the HW division. I grew up rooting for Golota and witnessed all his heart breaking fuck ups. I dont know why but I just like the guy, I have sentiment towards him and will continue to support him.

And if you say you did and still do root for Golota, why post stupid comments like that its sad that Golota Ekspres gets more attention, sure doesnt sound like you "love" the guy..

1) Yes, yes he is pretty mighty.

2) No, Briggs did not "whoop his ass" hence his 2 victories over Briggs.

Hes at a carrer high weight and in that Bates fight he looked rather big/fat. So your incorrect. Hes aging. Its typical to gain weight. All heavys do and as a matter of fact everyone does.

Rumsfeld posted a topic once before this forum crashed "Golota will own Ibragimov Chagaev Maskaev and both klits!" And a lot of people from the Golota express posted in that topic, and agreed. I never said that you posted "Golota will rule the heavyweight division." I just said People like you, not particularly yourself, but Golota fans like yourself. Maybe you misunderstood, I understand. I admit I said it wrong and made it look like Im saying that to you. You can support whoever you want I dont give a shit. I post whats on my mind and I think its dumb that this thread isn't active like the Golota one. Hes done and Adamek isn't. Agree or not.

He may be aging and has gained a few pounds, but I would still not consider that fat, especially compared to some other fighters trying to make a comeback. Golota always took what he does seriously and always comes in good physical shape.

Maybe I did mis-understand your post or wording. Although currently I dont think Golota would be able to hand Wladimir or Vitali. I think he has a shot against the rest of the belt holders, depending of course how he presents himself in the next fights.

Time will tell how things will turn out, everyone knows this is Golota's last trip. Which makes it that much more special, and I wish him the best.

Either way, this thread isnt about Golota but Adamek. I would like to see how he can handle the higher class dogs in the cruiserweight division. Theres a lot of powerful guys out there, and Adamek looked great in his last fight. I hope he performs just as well in his next one. I especially liked some of the slickness and what seem to be new defensive skill that he showed, which we did not see much of before. Has there been any news of any potential Adamek opponents?

I hope he preforms BETTER. Whitch Im damn sure he will, that was only his first fight in this new Division. I think he needs to fight another B+ class type fighter, just so he can get used to it a lil better, witch will all pay for him down the road. Cant fucking wait.

Hope ADamek makes some noise as a cruiserweight because he's a darn good fighter with a fan friendly style. But as much as I like him, it's kinda hard for me to imagine him beating the likes of Bell and Mormeck. Cunningham would also outbox him. I'd hate to think that but that's exactly what would happen because I don't think he carried his power up to this new division.

I appreciate the Clip and I did see that fight before but that was against some aging bum who can't be used as a measuring stick. I'm not saying that Adamek is a weak puncher as a cruiserweight, he still punches hard enough to gain respect, but at the same time, his punching power doesn't look to be improved.

Who can he beat in this division?

Not the best measuring stick but the only to go by right now.Pineda wasnt a bad opponent for his first fight at Cruiser.Pineda did fight for a World title.

Adamek has a very good shot against Cunningham,Wlodarczyk,Mormeck.

Might have been a bum. But he had a top 15 ranking in the WBO and IBF Cruiserweight divisions. So all in all, its a good opponent for a step up to a new division, and a increase in ranking.

Finally a fight.

Appears Adamek is supposed to fight Benjamin "El Peligroso" Florese on Dec. 29th.

If he wins, then in March he will be facing either Huck, or Cunningham for the IBF belt.

GO ADAMEK!!!!!!!:happy:happy

Anyone know anything about this Flrorese guy? Not too familiar with him to be honest.

Wow, I did not expect this. Flores is 20-0-1, a top 20 fighter, basically a slick up and comer much like Dawson was. Stylistically a very tough fight for Adamek, and keep in mind that BJ actually weighs in as a HW most of the time (218 lbs last fight!). He's a half inch taller and has 5" more reach to boot. Styistically speaking this will be a great challenge.

I wonder why he is chasing the IBF so badly? If Huck wins it will be tough for him to win that one, and Cunningham is all wrong for Adamek stylistically.

The WBA and WBC are about to be vacated by Haye if he can beat Mormeck, maybe this will be the way to go?

Hmm, I suppose thats not good news that hes so big, but Adamek can do it. You know Adamek, anyone, anywhere, anytime. Always takes the hardest path it seems. A true fighter. More in boxing should take example after him.:bbb

This Flores guy from what you are saying sounds pretty big, and tough. 5'' is a BIG reach advantage.

No kidding, which is exactly why I've been a fan since day 1. He'll get little credit for the win (should he win) but hey what can you do.

Is it not just fine to see a fighter chasing the competition?

It is mate but in this business there ought to be some reward on the line. If he re-signed with King I have a feeling we'd see Adamek vs Godfrey or Kraj (Flores-level fighters) for the vacant WBC strap.

Jeżeli wygra Cunningham, to w Stanach, jeżeli Huck, to w Niemczech albo w Szwajcarii.":bbb

ADAMEK TO REGAIN LICENSE IN NATIVE POLAND
By Matt Goldstein

Former light heavyweight titlist wants to fight Holyfield

After arguments with his promoter DKP seemed to stall his career, it looks like the former WBC Lightheavyweight Champion Tomasz Adamek will be regaining his license to fight in his native Poland. Adamek is already planning his return to the ring and is looking to fight the legendary Evander Holyfield. Holyfield is coming off of a loss to WBO champion Sultan Ibragamov. Adamek holds two wins over Paul Briggs but lost his title to Chad Dawson back in February. Tomasz Adamek has a professional record of 32-1 with 22 knockouts. Source: Polskie Radio News

Former WBC light heavyweight champion Tomasz Adamek (33-1, 22 KOs), now campaigning as a cruiserweight, scored a one-sided eight round unanimous decision over Josip Jalusic (8-9-1, 7 KOs). Scores were 80-72 on all cards.

Adamek fought an eight rounder?

Don't worry, I've seen exactly the same news some weeks ago in some Polish tabloid (with long history of publishing very unreliable articles about boxers). AFAIR it was the same tabloid which claimed RJJ and Hopkins as Adamek future opponents some time ago.

Personally I think even CW can bo too much for Adamek... but we'll see.

I understood until recently it wasn't sure if Adamek would be to fight in Bielefeld at all (suspension and his legal problems), so the fight (and opponent as well - I think it was replacement) had to be organized in a hurry. Perhaps this explains why it was 8-rounder...

negative...that wasn't one of the main bouts on the card and the stream coverage started just a couple of hours before cunningham knocked out huck. but honestly, while the Gunn fight (haha, gunfight!) might have been entertaining, i'm not too upset about missing his UD8 over a Croatian punching bag.

2 opponents pulled out of the Adamek fight.

First Gunn then they found a replacement with a 24-12 record(or something similar)who also pulled out about a week and a half ago.

Dissapointing opponent but at least he is back in the ring after yet another long layoff.

Part of the problem, I think, is that Dawson is a lot better than many of us (or at least for me) realized prior to his bout with Adamek. Axe was one of the first I remember being big on Dawson.

And I still think Dawson is probably better than many realize, although, it might be that I'm overrating both Adamek and Dawson....but I don't believe I am.

Good to see he logged some rounds in, it seems he was content to just shake the rust off a little tonight.

As to a Dawson rematch, Adamek's chances against Chad definitely go up at Cruiserweight, he did have some weight problems heading into that fight (which is why it was his last time at 175), and still managed to catch Chad in the later rounds.

I would still favour Dawson, however.

adamek was workman like only v a small out of shape journyman.

best you could say.

punchs were a bit forced and had either little power or little effect.

adamek was in shape , arms had bulked up a lot, but little snap on his punch`s albeit v a survivor and did not step through the gears to stop his opponent but stayed a little one paced throughout.

Sounds like he's a little musclebound then?

The weight is definitely not right for him. It's like a 3 division jump nowadays, from Lightheavy to the new Cruiserweight limit (25 lbs!).

He has to keep his quickness if he wants to make noise in this division. A few more bouts would do, then on to one of the champs (either Macca or Cunningham, with Haye moving up soon).

defintaly not the speed or snap of his light heavy days.

he carried the weight well, no excess fat, but it has taken speed of his right hand away .

i would have to look to see if his opponent had a granite chin in his loses or had been stopped before because a top fighter should be putting this type of fighter away.

his opponent was fat and about 5.10

Did you see Adamek's first fight at Cruiser? It was against a much better opponent and Adamek actually looked quite good. He was 198 lbs on the scales, but that was with clothes and and he did not cut any weight (looked to be carrying a little more fat than before).

Now it seems he is regressing again. Inactivity has been the bane of his career, the year long layoff after KOing Ulrich being the worst example. Hopefully with his new license he can string a few tuneups in in the next few months and become Cunnignham's new mandatory.

Teraz znowu do pracy przystąpią prawnicy i promotorzy, a efektem ich pracy będzie zapewne udział w ciekawej, prestiżowej gali w USA. "

At this point, I think Adamek needs to focus on gunning for a cruiserweight champion. If and when Chad moves up, perhaps there paths shall cross again, especially if Adamek can be successful in the weight class, but until then, Dawson beat Adamek fair and square and both have several different options for the immediate future.

According to EL MARIANO's post, Adamek was sick with the flu prior to the fight and was not fully recovered, with some kind of an throat infection or some shit. He took it a little easier on purpose, and his trainer Gmitruk was telling him he is doing well and not to change anything. He said that sometimes health could be a limiting factor in a fighters performance on a given night and that he wasnt 100% in health for the fight, therefore his somewhat less then expected performance.

Also said he has a couple of interesting propostions for fights from the U.S as well as in Europe, but nothing will be really known till maybe towards the end of January.

Adamek is far more better fighter than Krzysztof Włodarczyk and Włodarczyk gave Cunningham a hard time in the ring.

I agree but I wouldn't underestimate Cunningham. His first fight with Diablo could be misleading. He probably didn't took Włodarczyk too serious couse in his next two fights he looked a lot better and physically stronger. He dominated Diablo and stopped Huck being a 3 to 1 underdog! Adamek is head and shoulders above Włodarczyk but his power declined IMO after going to Cruiser. But nonetheless speed and technique is there and if Tomek fights smart he can outbox some top guys from the division.

Fights with Włodarczyk were poor, Diablo has some power in his hands but also some ring IQ (not like Huck) so it wasn't easy for USS.

Adamek maybe hasn't got that bomb but he is faster, smarter and very versalite. He can take shots, he can box behind jab, he can box inde, great boxing skills.

Cunningham is fast, inteligent, defensive specialist who can make some damage (Huck) but i think he will have trouble with Adamek who can brawl and isn't a "a teddy bear" that you can hug (that Cunningham clinching is annoying)

Yeah, sure Diablo has heavy hands but he isn't doing the same damage when he was making in 190lbs limit. And I agree he didn't try to bullrush Cunn with wild punches like Huck, his pressure was paced and punches fairly straight. But on the other hand Huck despite the stoppage landed a lot more punches on Cunn than Diablo.

Adamek maybe hasn't got that bomb but he is faster, smarter and very versalite. He can take shots, he can box behind jab, he can box inde, great boxing skills.

Adamek's chance to do some noise in CW division is to BOX. If he decides to brawl with the bigger guys (like he did with Briggs) he'll be badly hurt. But IMHO Cunningham isn't a guy who can be outboxed by Adamek. USS is a slick guy with very quick hands, and a good, accurate jab. The biggest difference is defence. Cunn has a great defence and is pretty hard to hit clean.

Adamek has rich variety of punches and Cunningham?Jab & hug.

I agree with you that the way to succes for Adamek in CW is to BOX not to brawl, and it's obvious that he can box, he's one of the best skilled fighters in the world

All Adamek has to do is what Włodarczyk did, and Adamek is a class better boxer than Krzysztof so I'm betting on Tomasz

Cunningham just took Huck back to school, his performence was impresive but vs Wlodarczyk he didn't look so good (in both fights)

That's why we love em!!!!!

Adamek wont gas like Mormeck and hopefully Bell wont get another Dale Brown gift decision(if it goes that far)!

Is this fight with Bell made yet? If so, when?

I don't think it is, or the forum would have a dozen threads about this fight.

I can see the posts now...Bell by KO.

Yeah, right.:yep

Thats the kinda fight Adamek needs to put his name back on the front page. This will be an elimination bout, but to get a crack at which ABC champ???

:huh

BTW, hows the weather in Frisco? We're going through some cold shit here on the east coast. 15 degrees at night the last few. But they say Monday could hit 60!

Is that nuts or what?

Cunningham and the IBF.

Now they are making him fight an eliminator.

I am so syked for this fight. We'll get to watch this free. This is a big opportunity for Tomek to redeem himself against a solid opponent and a big name. After his loss to Dawson many doubted the skills of Adamek, if he puts on a good performance this fight will propel him back to one of the top fighters in the division and set him up for a shot at the title.

Adamek needs this fight if he ever expects to return to the big time.

A loss against Bell might reduce him to stepping-stone status.

Unfortunately, making the jump from lt. heavy to cruiser is quite a jump. He's a man without a weight class.

agreed....dawson was a bad matchup (southpaw, technically better sound boxer)

I have a better feeling about this matchup. Bell is not as skilled of a boxer, Adamek should cautiously pot shot will way to victory....but yes the biggest concern is how he handles the weight\power.

If there was an 185 division Adamek would dominate, even more than he will at cruiser. :good

I hope and think Adamek can pull this one off.

He has been too inactive with all the drama that has been surrounding him.

As to the Dawson fight, not to go back to that again, there is no doubt Dawson is a skilled fighter, but Adamek was most definently not himself that night. Dawson never had him hurt, and some people say it was Dawsons style that made Adamek look bad, I doubt that as Adamek looked pale and energyless throughout the whole fight. Against a hard hitting Briggs he kept comming forward all night through both of their fights, while getting hit with huge shots. With Dawson Adamek wasnt even going forward or even throwing many punches for that matter since round 1, and Dawson doesnt hit as hard as Briggs.

I'm not saying he would have won, but I'm not saying he would have lost, either. All I'm saying is that its a fight we did not see, it could have had a very different outcome.

This Bell fight will be interesting. I hope Adamek uses his speed and boxing ability that he gave us a glimpse of against Pineda.

ADAMEK!!!!! :happy:happy

All abord! The Mighty Adamek shall inevitably rule the cruiserweight division!

GO ADAMEK!

I very much doubt it! IMO he punches above his weight. He looked very mediocre in his first fight at cruiser weight. His very limited Croation opponent could hold his own against the mighty Adamek.
Besides the competition at cruiser weight is too strong and too numerous for the Pole. Someone like Alexeev would murder him.And there are quite a lot of very good fighters at cruiser weight which is one of hottest division at present. He should move down to light heavy again if he can make the weight. As I see it he will be a flash in the pan at cruiser weight.

Wow that's something new.I German discrediting a Pole and then taking a RUSSIAN as his own to compare him too.

BTW that was not Adamek's first fight at Cruiser.I watched the 3 rounds that were available from that fight on the net and Adamek dominated every moment of it?Maybe he should take on a 2-7 fighter like that BUM Huck in order to look good.

I dont get it! You are German, arent you!
Or do you think that I am German? If so, I 'd like to inform you that neither do I intend to dicredit Adamek nor am I German.I stem from Belarus.Thats why I certainly root for fighters from Russia when matched with Poles.
But apart from that I truly believe that Adamek just cant hold a candle to Alexeev at cruiser weight.Alexeev plays in a different league.

As for Adamek vs that journeyman from Croatia I watched their entire fight.Though Adamek won every round of that fight he still wasnt able to truly dominate his very limited foe.It wasnt a very convincing performance.Thats for sure!
As for Huck to call him bum just reveals your hate for him.He certainly disappointed a lot of fight fans in his last fight with Cunningham, but unlike Adamek he has a proven track record at cruiser weight. Among his victims are Vadim Tokarev. As you may know Tokarev has some known names among his skalps. Darnell Wilson,Felix Cora,a draw with Arslan, and some other good names.Adamek? You really want to compare him with Tokarev,eh? What has he done at cruiser weight?
You think that a victory over an unheralded journeyman from Croatia is enough to call him a top knight at the castle?
Bah! You are just one of those Polish nuthuggers who go beserk as soon as someone dares to critisize one of your Polish boys.Patriotism is a good thing. However, blind nationalism is a different matter.Come to think of it dont you discredit your beloved hero here on this board by trying to sell him to the other fight fans here on esb as the next great thing at cruiser weight when he has done shit so far at this weight division?

Have i EVER called him the next great thing at Cruiser? And yes Huck is a fucking BUM.His lack of Boxing skill was clear as day in the Cunningham fight, but of course you would say Cunnigham fought the fight of his life.

Not even close to a blind nuthugger(save the kiddie words for the kiddies BTW).There are PLENTY of Polish fighters out there that i could care less about.Infact im only a hardcore fan of about 3-4 of them.Im not blinded by nationalism. If a fighter is garbage then he is garbage no matter where he is from.

Yet it seems like a constant pattern with you and Tom Tocca....oh that guy is OK but there is this COMPLETE unknown German based Russian fighter who would beat him.

And aside from getting a KO i dont know what else a fighter can do than win every round that is given.Which is what he did.

Alexeev isnt an unknown German based Russian as you ve described him.
Alexeev was a very successful amateur whose firepower was and still is awesome. He has been matched quite toughly in the paid ranks so far.I expect him to have a shot at a mayor title within the next 12 months.
Germany is one of the most important fight markets at present. Therefore, a lot of great and successful amateurs from the countries of the former soviet union as well as other top fighters from Cuba or some eastern european are based there.

Adamek won every round of his encounter with that mediocre journeyman from Croatia? Yes,he did,but the way he won that fight didnt bode well for his further career at cruiser weight. He punches above his weight. His punches didnt bother the Croat at all.Whats more almost all rounds were quite competitive.Adamek showed a very lame and unconvincing performance against that unheralded Croat.
To claim that Adamek would stop that "bum" Huck is ludicrious!
I bet my house that Huck's victim Tokarev would beat Adamek black and blue if they ever fought each other.Huck, too, has pop in his fists, and Adamek isnt a slick mover and excellent counterpuncher like Cunningham.Admittingly,Adamek can take a good punch, and a victory for Huck woudnt be a sure bet,but I wouldnt call Huck the underdog against Adamek.
Whoever is able to win convincingly against Vadim Tokarev doesnt have to worry about a fight with Tomasz Adamek IMO!

I was leaning towards Bell to beat Adamek, but Adamek impressed with his perfomance. Good for him. I see Adamek running the show at cruiser in the next year or so.

And I'd like to see him to avenge the Dawson loss at some point.

I think he still has a bright future. The move to Cruiser seems wiser with each passing fight.

And I'd like to see him to avenge the Dawson loss at some point.

It could happen at some point down the road. Dawson was always apopreciative of receiving his chance from Adamek (when Adamek could have taken an easier path and made him fight his mandatory) and I think Adamek could improve upon his first effort tremendously.

I think he employed a stupid strategy (trying to outbox a better boxer). Even still, he figured something out late in the fight.

Regardless of Dawson, I still think Adamek is a forced to be reckoned with.
