watch when/if quintana loses in a close fight against williams people are going to start calling him overrated and a bum, same thing happened with margo, when he beat cintron he was great, he beats clottey in a tough fight he is a bum, cotto tko's judah and he is great, he wins a very close fight against mosley and now 'he couldn't even knock out an old mosley'

Well it's not suprising. :D
If the morons here in this forum can call a heavyweight title holder in WLAD as bum . . . and the p4p #1 Floyd as over rated . . . what would you expect will be their reaction to a mere contender like Quintana?
:rofl :rofl :hey

I almost hate this fight:yep I've been a Quinatan fan and took a hard loss on the Cotto fight. Which worked out in the end because from that fight? I saw Cotto display ability, adaptability, and skill which told me he COULD box with guy's like SSM where I got the WIN.
I want Wlliams to win here because he's already beaten Margarito and with a quality win here? It will prepare him for Floyd and force him to be reckoned with. Williams must turn it up, be in great condition, and more accurate in this performance.
That said? There's a VERY REAL possibility that Quintana could win this fight. If that happens, you are right and the Williams haters will shit all over Quintana saying he beat an over rated opponent. Then instead of fighting Quintana? Floyd will shrug it off and retire. But if you beat Paul Williams? You just beat a top 3 WW.
The good news? I dont see PBF getting passed Cotto cuz guess what? This guy can BOX his ass off and if you saw the Malignaggi, Quintana, Judah, SSM fights and still dont get it? God bless ya:D

I said Williams was overrated before, during and after the Margarito fight, I still profess this rating. Quintana has a very good chance for victory and I hope he wins.

That pretty much sums up the board these days. :-(

Quintana is underrated. He's got a solid workrate, good fundamentals, good technical skills, and a good defense.

Uh...Clottey schooled Margarito until he fractured his left hand and stopped throwing punches with it. People were making Margarito out to be a boogey-man that everyone was supposedly afraid of. Of course there will be some backlash after Margarito's performances against better competition.

yeah clottey always seems to hurt his hands in close fights or fights that he loses, he never hurts his hands when he beats guys like marcos primera.

Williams is overrated and I'll say it a million times. Everybody says the same shit over and over again. His height, reach, and workrate. Who gives a fuck?! He can be countered all day by Floyd and Cotto would cave his rib cage in!

Quintana won't beat Williams so you don't have to worry about that. Williams will outwork him to a UD win.:deal

I will not be surprised if Williams brutalize Quintana not that Quintana is a bum but quintana after that brutal loss, had fought only one time and is inactive as hell, and not that the hunguer that had before, Williams by mid round stoppage. a good version of quintana would give Williams a tought fight.

Are you seriously trying to say that Clottey didn't hurt his hand in that Margarito fight? Did you watch the fight?
I know you want to prove your point, but you need to be honest with yourself.

yes i watched the fight, and like every other clottey fight he gassed and like every other margarito fight he took the first half of off and came out strong the second round,
clottey's excuse is getting ridiculous, he is hype, his only claim to fame is losing to baldomir and margarito.

Relentless,
Yes, Clottey's workrate does have the tendency to taper off late in the fight but bro...... HE STOPPED PUNCHING WITH HIS LEFT HAND! The same left hand that completely controlled and befuddled Margarito during the first half of the fight. He was clearly trying not to use the left hand( he was still using his right hand ).....he tried to beat Margarito with one hand.
Maybe he did get tired, but any objective person would clearly recognize the fact that Clottey was protecting a bad left hand. He verified this obvious fact during the postfight interview.

And did you see how ineffective Margo was when Clottey got on his bicycle? As an observer, I can take what I see in one fight and apply it to my views on a particular fighter esp if that fighter is being hailed as most feared monster since King KONG. Margarito will be ineffective against a GOOD outside boxer who moves....
Remember the Delahoya blueprint to defeating Tito Trinidad? Use your legs because Tito needs to set his feet to throw his punches. It is possible for valid conclusions to be reached about a fighter after watching him fight a good opponent with a specific style.
