Floyd Mayweather moving to MMA?

I just heard on a local sportscast....Steve Hartman and ch.9 KCal in Los Angeles, that Mayweather Jr. is mulling an offer with Dallas Maverick owner Mark Cuban to promote and fight in a cage style MMA event.

Has anybody heard of this?

What do you all think?

good post could not agree more. mayweather is a true great theres no question but he should be fighting the in form w/w if he is as good as we think he is and everyone else seems to(including himself)

After contemplating it, I don't think Floyd would fight MMA. If he gets 30 mil from Cuban to fight, other MMA fighters will want that much. MMA will be put out to business.

It will be the end of MMA to see MMA fighters getting boxing match pay. the business men in MMA would like to keep a huge chunk of their change for themselves.

He might promote it...But as much of a fan i am I don't think that fighting in the MMA would be a good move! A boxer has a better chance of winning in mma than an mma fighter would in boxing! But both would most likely win in their respective sports! Mayweather is not the exception!

And this does not contradict what he said about UFC in comparison to boxing!

He gave praise to Mixed Martial Arts! and dissed Dana White and the UFC who started talking shit!

This deal with cuban is supposed to be with HDNET Fights one of the many UFC competing (where theres no competition to ufc in actuality) mixed martial arts companies...If Floyd got involved with promoting those fights! it might be a serious challenge to Mr. White!

mayweather may be a lot of things, but 1 thing he isnt is stupid. this is probably bs but it wouldnt surprise me if he did fight 1 big exhibition in MMA but with a lot of stipulatations such as no ground fighting etc.. basically turning it into a boxing match yet suckering the masses to buy another PPV :yep
