question just asked on another forum....what is the origin of red & blue corners in boxing....does it have any historical meaning?

Sometimes fighters would flip a coin for corners.

What would make you care about the history of corner colors? Who gives a fuck.

Because it would sound wierd if Hatton was "fighting out of the black corner..".
Blue and Red have always been the colors used to designate different teams in matchups - i.e. red team, blue team. Blue and red are colors that are easy to see and aren't going to blend in to the surroundings, plus they are gender-nuetral, therefore they are the most common. There you go, the history of red and blue.
