Ozell Nelson is his manager, not his former trainer.
Ozell was his trainer from Childhood. It was Ozell's gym where Taylor learned to box, and Ozell who took him to the Olympics. Ozell may be his manager now, but he certainly WAS his original trainer (before Pat Burns, then Steward).

No, Taylor will be the same exact fighter he has been. He wont make new adjustments to deal with Pavlik's style and he wont fix his technical flaws. He's virtually going to be the same fighter without the confidence he had coming into the first fight.

My mistake, I didnt know that. You are better informed that I am.
I still dont think it will make a difference. Pavlik wrecked his confidence
It's all good my friend. I learned it from a documentary on YouTube and the Countdown show HBO put out (which was all recently). I hope I didn't seem to be an ass, I've learned a few things from your posts too:good .

I don't think Ozell will make much difference either way. In my opinion Taylor going for the immediate rematch shows that he does not understand why he lost the fight and isn't really interested in correcting the flaws that got him knocked out. My feeling is that he thinks Pavlik got lucky, but if you have followed Kelly's career over the last few years you know that what we saw back in September was a typical Pavlik fight. I think the most likely scenario for the rematch is a repeat of the first fight, but there will be 3 significant differences: 1) Taylor will find himself in the ring with a bigger, stronger version of the same monster that knocked him out last time; 2) the bias displayed by the retards who judge fights for HBO will favor Kelly; 3) Pavlik won't get cute and stick his chin out a second time, so there won't be a repeat of round 2. This all adds up to JT losing 2 straight to Pavlik.

I feel that Jermain was a much better fighter before Steward and Ozell might help a little but it's up to Jermain to figure things out for himself.

So you do'nt think any of those combinations by Jermain had anything to do with it.:patsch

He did stick his chin out though, there are fotos proving it.
And Jermain caught him in the face with an elbow on top of the right hand.
Bascially, it wont happen again
EXACTLY!! I really get fed up with this "Taylor almost had him out of there" mantra. Sometimes I get the feeling that at least some of those who keep chanting it didn't even see the fucking fight. Pavlik gave Taylor a free fucking shot at him AFTER JT threw several elbows! Pavlik was up at a count of 2, the ref looked Kelly over good, by rounds end JT was initiating the clinches, the fucking doctor checked Pav out between rounds and had no problem with Kelly continuing, AND Kelly handed JT an ass whippin' I was impressed to see him survive IN THE VERY NEXT ROUND. Taylor hurt Pavlik. There is no question about that, but Pavlik was clearly a long way from knocked out.
