Out of all of the current heavyweights making comebacks out there, who do you think has the best chance of actually winning a belt? And why?

Tough to say ...I will go with the Atomic Bull Oliver McCall

I was thinking of him, but he has been fighting regularly and is not really comebacking.

Alright then I will go with my second choice of Holyfield .
I was going to say McCall but you're right, he's been around.

Evander "Real Deal" Holyfield - yeah, his skills have declined, but from ATG levels. The rest of 'em didn't start out so lucky - most of 'em were mediocre in their "primes." :yep

What no love for Terrible Tim? Given he's the oldest of the lot I pick him.

Hopefully none of them, but if forced to pick off this list, I'd have to *cough* *wheeze* go with Holy, only because he's the most likely to get a gift decision.
I might have to go with Mesi though.

The Foul Pole, easily....and that should tell you how none of these washed-up fighters trying to make a comeback have any hope of winning anything other than the NABF

mesi is done. first harder punch and it's over...
I don't know, he looked pretty sharp against that tomato can a few months ago. I was fairly surprised.
most of them are able to beat all current belt holders...
No, they are not. This isn't even open for discussion.

Of the names mentioned, I would expect only Holyfield & Golota to even sniff a title shot, and probably only on name power would they get a chance. Of the two, Holy has a better shot at winning, but I don't expect either will.

Golota is a quitter, no way does he win a title ever! you forgot to add McCall up there but Holyfield has the most likely chance here.
Come on you all Golota hasnt even won a world title yet, he got owned in his biggest fights, watch the man fall apart again soon.
...and why is that??? only klitschko seems at that point a little bit above the average belt holder, but it could change very soon:D
Like already mentioned, most of the guys weren't that good to begin with and those that were ( Oldyfield ) are so over the hill, it's not even funny. end of story. None of those guys has ANY chance to get a belt in a legit fight.

How come that Vitaly is not in the poll? To the best of my knoweldge he is coming back in Sep. against McCline.

I think Holyfield maybe winning some titles in his later career.

both of them will have a shot at the title very soon and both of them have a huge chance to succed. not because they are so good at 39 and 44, the belt holders are just so bad...
Holyfield has a chance at beating Ibragimov, but I don't believe Golota could beat any of the current belt holders, though he might get a shot.

From the poll I chose Holyfield, he can beat Chageav or Ibragimov but I think Mccall is the most likely to, but he isnt on the poll.

The sad truth is, any one of these has beens, never weres, and never had a chances could seriously contend right now because of the barren waste land that the heavyweights have become. If shannon Briggs could win a belt, I'd think just about anybody could.

Did you include Buster Douglas in the poll?
Is he making a comeback?! :!:

exactly. who holds the belts now??? who really cares about them??? heavyweight boxing needs charismatic fighters like tyson, holyfield, bowe, golota, lewis, ibeabuchi...charismatic and Ibeabuchi in the same sentence?:huh Sure he had a shitload of power and decent skill, but charisma?...
holyfield could win a belt...so can the bull...i dont see the obsession with the pole.....he never done a thing but batter bowe in foul filled fights and shrivel up against tyson and lewis......if he coulda gone to see the wizard with dorothy, he coulda got a heart and courage before the lion and the tin man and really been a contender...

Where is TUA in this poll? He is younger than all of them - but
definitely on the comeback.

Exactly.
However if I HAD to pick out of that list of shot fighters I'd probably go with Golota b/c of his size and power.
The others must be REALLY bad then. I seen his last fight and he was horrible. Hes 40 now.

Golota seems to be doing pretty well. Holyfield looked pretty good in his comeback. Sanders is not willing to work hard enough in the gym for his comeback.

I voted for Sanders, but i really don't think any of them have a decent shot...

Sanders was recently KO'd by Osborne Machimana (14-5-1) so you can forget about him. He even didn't bother to get in some kind of shape for this fight.
I think from the fighters you mentioned there only Golota has a small chance. He has a name and he is King's fighter, so at least he can get a titleshot easily. The problem is getting a titleshot and winning a belt are two different things.
Holy still has a name, but he just lost his chance so I doubt he has enough time left to get back. I am not going to discuss if he is shot completely or only in 90% ;-), the bottomline is that he is not getting any younger and by the time he will get another titleshot he will be just punching bag.
Botha? I like him and in his prime he was almost good enough to win some minor title. But it was more than 10 years and probably about 40 pounds ago.
And I am not sure if we should consider Vitali at all. There are gossips about his comeback every couple of months, but so far he only managed to lose to training camp (five or six times in a row).

None of the guys listed. Vitali Kltischko would be my pick.
