Can someone explain in detail exactly what a stop hitter does?

Also can you name some examples?

Its a fencing term, its a move that stops your opponent from scoring, i.e. a thrust to your opponent's sword arm. Its got nothing to do with boxing - it would be like jabbing to your opponent's bicep to stop him throwing a punch

Now if you had asked for the term switch hitter, I would have been able to help.

A switch hitter is defined as one who is able to masturbate ambidextrously. This is quite a useful skill, when the dominant hand is not available at the moment.

It can also be used to express one's bicuriousness when it comes to sexuality: one who would express indifference when he must choose between the drinking of sperm as opposed to pussy juice. This is as can be seen in the sentence:

I never figured little Jimmy to be a switch hitter until the rumor got around that he parked his beef bus in Old Man Whithers's asshole. (courtesy of urbandictionary.com)

Obviously, one can see that this ambivalence can be the root of much ambiquity in the term's usage. Its meaning can be derived from context under careful scrutiny, but often causes much confusion.

I hope this helps. Good luck to you.

if that fighter got a tight guard your punch is practicaly useless as well... i just dont see how the heck you can get a clean hit on someones bicep if they are guarding right

i agree with littleguy tho people on forums just pull questions out of nowhere

Jack Dempsey is reputed to have shown Max Baer how to do that.

its really easy to say but hard to actually do when a real punch comes at you, not to mention if they do textbook punches they will leave little angles you can hit on the arm. unless you can tell they are going to hook you a second before the punch actually hits you, the best you can probably do is do jab or fast soft punch to their arm

if you can see the open angle of their arm and capable of stopping his punch by a hard right cross why not just slam a counter punch in his face which is easier and more practical

Its seems to me that its like Bruce Lee's intercepting fist. When they attack you land in vital areas to stop their attack. Kind of like beating them to the punch and stopping them at the same time.
