Does this kid go by another name? Can't find squat about him online...
Good luck to him though. He looks both a little young and compact to be competing as HW (not SHW?) in the Olympics, but best of luck to him anyway. Is he out of SD?

Hey Freddy, he won his HW fight in Mexico, to get the spot in SuperHeavyweight.
But the guys that represent amateur boxing in Mexico tought that the HW Tavera and the SHW Ruiz, were not to good to represent Mexico in the Panamerican Games of Rio that will begin in July.
Also Ruiz is 17, so i'm thinking you meant the London 2012 Olympics.
He's 5'11 120 kg. right?
This is the team that will go to the Panamerican games and the 6'2 Middleweight Marco Periban is the biggest boxer they have.
They left out LHW, HW and SHW

Yeah that's true, they even left out Miguel Angel Tavera who is trained by Nacho Beristain and won the New York Golden Gloves :patsch.
Maybe budget issues? But their answer was that in the 3 biggest divisions those fighters couldn't compete with the other fighters in the PanAm Games. :huh

But even if he was left out of the team for the Panamerican games (you could get a spot for the Olympics in this tournament).
Maybe his dad meant that he will fight in one of those 'last minute' qualifying tournaments to get a spot for the Olympics, that could be.
