Question for Johnny Nelson Fans

Nelson offen gets bashed for his style and sometimes righthly so, but he was also a wily technician in the ring, a thinking man's fighters.

I've only seen his fights with Girard and Jones.

So, if I was to get just one Johnny Nelson fight of his Cruiserweight defenses, which is the best one?

Rudiger May fight was a good fight I remember watching a few clips and Nelson boxed beatufilly that fight. The sellers fight was pretty exciting with Nelson getting decked in the 5th I think and stopping Sellers with a punch to the eye if I remember.

Nice guy in person trained at Wincobank for a bit and Nelson was always friendly

The Ezra Sellers fight was exciting, the Guillermo Jones fight was a robbery. The Carl Thompson fight is worth watching also.

I liked watching nelson win, more than actually watching him if you know what i mean. I was never thrilled during one of his fights, but could see talent and was always glad to see him get the W.

I liked the Cantatore fight aswell , thank god there was 2 US judges there or Johnny would of been robbed of his title .Yeah that was a SD but I thought Johnny won that easily. He did get knocked down in one of the rounds (flash KD) and the, I assume Italian, timekeeper made the round last four minutes. Crazy.

Actually I wouldn't be too surprised coz Jones was a machine that night, gave Johnny Nelson hell.

His best fight was against Alexander Petkovic.Johnny i think may have been the underdog in that bout.Everyone was expecting the then unbeaten Petkovic to KO him at home.Johnny went to his home turf and put on a clinic with what should have been a wide UD.Naturally with german scoring it was a majority decision.

exactly it was dreadful performance by both fighters, just because Nelson got knocked down and then stopped Sellars doesnt mean it was a good fight, I think it took place in Denmark? :huh

the SKY commentary (if my memory serves me) didnt want to give the rounds to either boxer as neither was doing anything

Nelson basically spoiled the fight.He wasnt doing much and was very defensive.I think he was more than relieved when he landed on the button as Sellars staggered him quite a few times in the right.
